If the Mariners could improve in one area this winter, what should it be?

Branyon is dead! RIP! Spend the $ on #2 starter and take long look at Carp in Peoria. NEED left-handed power in middle of line-up, not necessarily a home run strike out guy like Branyon, thanks again Russ!
Hey Adrian, sorry I couldn't resist, see ya.If I have to watch you swing at a pitch that's six inches off the plate ,and in the dirt for that matter, while looking into the left field bleachers, for strike three I'm gonna puke!

    GO M's...

We have legitimate top prospects who give us lots of potential upside at LF (Michael Saunders) and 3B (Matt Tuiasasopo, who almost made the team with a great spring training last year). Depending upon his physical health, we know Russell Branyan can produce at 1B. Griffey will hopefully come to camp with a better knee and 25 pounds lighter...he was finding his groove at the end of last year, even with the bad knee. And there aren't a lot of 2B in the league who can hit .300 with 25 HR and 100 RBI, which is about where Lopez is, despite his OBP and defensive limitations.

What don't we have anywhere on the horizan? A strong LHP #2 starter or an overpowering #2 RHP. Morrow and RR Smith give us hope, but they are not the intimidating #2 we need. Pitching and defense keep you in nearly every game.
