Anyone who has been in the military (and even those who have not) realize that there is a code, a trust given with orders. If you are to obey an order, those who gave it must indemnify you of wrong if you follow it.
In this case, the United States gave the order to seek out and capture (or kill) the people responsible for a sick, depraved and torturous act against Americans. At extreme risk to themselves (and amazing ability) these Seals did that. The terrorist was retrieved with all body parts still there (unlike his American victims).
No that country who gave the order want to prosecute these Seals for their act of skill and bravery?
Whomever is responsible for putting these Seals "on trial" should be exposed, shamed and removed to either prison or obscurity. Better yet, send them to live at the scene of the original act.
Ludicrous charges. They should be decorated publicly and any navy discipline handled behind the wood shed between their c.o. and the seals involved. How many potential elite forces did we just loose for decades to come. How stupid are these people?

A Bloody lip! Come on, do you think the enemy would be a fraction as forgiving?
Because of this BS, not only will you have some troops hesitate on missions, fearing the lawyers looking over their shoulders, but you will also have the opposite effect occur. Some troops are going to make sure they KILL their targets instead of capturing, to make sure the lawyers don't coddle them and let them free on some BS technicality. Any time these commanders without the balls to defend their own troops lead their soldiers to the lawyers, they are weakening the entire military structure.
