Tempting though it may be to take the 'free' space, I would say the cost of the petrol and wear and tear on your car just getting there and back, makes it far from 'free'. Plus the time involved in the commute. If you want to network with people, use some of the networking events that are more local to where you are. Plus, that way you may find someone who can offer you space nearer to home.
