The AMA has become nothing but another self-serving Political Liberal Organization exactly like the DNC, not listening to, nor caring about their constituents (Patients). The only ones to rival them is AARP and the UNIONS!!! If the National Health Care Bill passes and becomes the Law of the Land, were I a Doctor, I would go to another country to practice. My eldest son says Politicians should be limited to 2 terms! ONE in Office and the 2ND one in Prison. Don't close GitMo, we'll need it for this present Administration!!!!

I am sick of the AMA--they are not interested in the welfare of their patients or
the citizens of America.

I do not trust the AMA. I believe they are true to politics rather than the welfare of American citizens. Maybe that is why their membership is a small percentage of American doctors.

The AMA is one of those government-sponsored monopolies that benefits from government-run healthcare (they run the national database and publish the onerous and expensive CPT codebook every year). AARP and Blue Cross/Blue Shield are two others. It is ridiculous to look to them for an unbiased assessment of government-run healthcare: they speak with the government voice.

I used to do business with the AMA several years ago. Their main interest was trying to figure out how to enlist more doctors into the "club". The fact that they actually only represent a comparative small minority of doctors in this country was a surprise to me. This fact should be well known to anyone who believes their opinion or endorsement represents the majority of practicing physicians in this country. I am pretty sure the general public feels that they speak for all or most doctors.

Why would anyone want their doctor to belong to this organization (AMA), why would any good doctor want to belong to that organization, obviously they are not there for the patient, While we all go to Doctors we all need to realize that they are paid employees by the patients and that they are not GOD, that the patient has the rights to make their own decisions, and the Doctors need to give us the accurate not biast facts so we can make our own decisions. We need to listen, be given the options and then make our own decision.

AMA - American Medical Association sounds lofty doesn't it? Why can we not get information to the American public as to what this organization really is?

#1 The AMA has not been a success because it lost it's original purpose: to educate, move information and problem-solve for it's members. Instead it became politicized so now we have a monster on our hands.
#2 I find it surprising that the Docs are struggling with technology for I cannot think of any group who has adopted more tech. equipment in the past 20 years!! The xray dept. and the surgery dept. don't seem to have a problem with HIT
#3 Sorry -- but the government ALREADY runs the medical field and the insurance companies run everybody. If you do not believe me, check out the local hospital when all the inspectors come calling every few days and then..... take a look at your Medicare info. "packet". Makes "War and Peace" look like a novella.

It is the same story with the ANA ( American Nurses Association). Their membership represents only about 11% of nurses...

(AMA)..? Medical? I am no doctor, nor am I even a first responder. But when I seen members of the AMA gather in obama issued lab coats at the white house to support the crap they call reform, I lost any vision that might have been there that these people where physicians. Instead all I seen was a group of corrrupt , liberal lobbiests. Who have the gall to call themselves doctors, all the while selling out people who actually care about the patients that are under their care. It makes me wonder what contributing factors weighed in on the decision they made to support this socialist sham. Most likely it was a good deal like the one the senator from Neb. or the senator from La. recieved.

Thanks for the information regarding the AMA. I was wondering how Doctors and Hospitals could support Obama's Health Care Plan. Now I know, only a very few support it.
