What has been the best first single in recent Idol history? (Poll Closed)

Daughtry's song is much bigger. Lets see if Lambert can pull a Platinum certified single! It was in the top ten digital selling songs of 2007.

Lambert's "Sleepwalker" on the other hand has some breakthrough potential.

I think for those people who applaud Adam Lambert for his creativity is so overrated. Hmmm, think it this way. Adam Lambert has exposure in the fast in the entertainment industry but he never made it. Adam talent is manmade, he can act being a performer, but can not sing a great music!

Most negative comments on boards/polls like these are jealous fans of others and can't stand the fact that Adam has become so huge. It really doesn't matter to me a whole lot whether his single goes Platinum or not, I think there are other attributes that measure success. And no matter what anyone who doesn't appreciate him thinks, Adam has already attained success.

Adam a performer and he has proved it on AI and the AI Tour this summer. What he want is to perform and his strength will be live performances and international concerts. Over 35% of his fan base in his many fan clubs are overseas fans. People are dying to see him performing on TV, videos or even better live. CD sell statistics are only important for people in the US, selling sold out tours and major venues are what matters as this is where artists make the most money and Adam can do that!

No, Adam is not huge....yet. I believe it is only a matter of time, though. I don't think there has ever been this much buzz about any contestant before. Adam, IMO, is the whole package to attain stardom.....great looking, excellent vocalist, charismatic, versatile, commands whatever stage he's on (making it difficult to notice anyone else). The media knows that he is special, which is why they are all clamoring for him for interviews, appearances, and magazine covers.

I don't think there is any way for Adam to move except UP. Some idol contestants turn out music, gain some modicum of success, then fall into oblivion. Then you have your Carrie's, Daughtrys, and Kelly's who excel. In my heart, I believe that Adam will become the most successful of any of them. It's only a matter of time before someone will slap his handsome face into a movie, too.

As far as his single goes, yeah I like it. Not what I was really hoping for, but it shows Adam's versatility. I look forward to his CD because I'm sure that it is really varied and fantastic.

Hey guys, lets be happy for all our AI's! Although I'm a huge fan of David Archuleta, we feel very fond of any one who went through the rigors of the show! So let show love to all of them! They are all successful in their own way. Look at David! The public thought he would fade out and look at him now! He's everywhere, AND he's happy and is always giving out shout outs to all his AI brothers & sisters. He's always encouraging his fans to suppot all of them and we do! Can't wait to buy this year's season 8 music!

adam only has this much votes because of the hype and momentum he's gained. the other songs on the list came out last year. if carrie haad won last season, she would've crushed everyone on this list. same as daughtry--whose it's not over will never be topped by someone like berta. give it 2 or 3 months after release then come back here and tell me i was wrong.

Adam has so many votes because his song is the best. The only other songs on the list that I like are Light On and It's Not Over. Not a fan of any of the others. Get over it jealous haters. Adam rocks!

i really think crush by david archuleta is the best single despite Archie being a runner up , he still pull the trigger and land on top.... Adam's song is ok.. but not that great...Kris is better and has really nice message unlike Adam, that is why Adam lost...

Common sense. Simple facts. Its NOT jealousy that many discredit Adam. No one is saying he is NOT a big name. He may get a number one hit---here and there. Thats not the matter. The matter is that on Idol, Simon and Paula could have left the country and missed many shows/performances, only to come back and say, with tears in their eyes, how great Adam Adam was. It was delirium and tinsel hype that put Adam where he now is. Its politics that gave Adam the invitation to the AMA's, the 2012 song spot, and irresponsibe hype by some others in the entertainment business. Not any personal garbage you lovers tend to have selfishly in your minds. This is the reasonableness I mentioned above. Its there and its simple to see....I will likely buy Adams CD if the rest is like his new single. I will buy Kris' bcause I love that type of mellow soft rock. BUT, ALLISON HAS THE BEST SONG--AS FAR AS ROCK GOES (even if the media only has her in the pop, dance, teen[whatever]):SHE IS MORE GENUINE ROCK THEN ANY OTHER EXCEPT DOUGHTRY. Even so, she still rocks. ALLISON IS THE BEST.

Ulysses you are so so so so JEALOUS of Adam. Why? Stop trying to demean him when everyone, except for some lame-brained Kris fans, know how great Adam is. He is SO talented and so steamy hot.
