What is your usage of the Newton trash service? (Poll Closed)

I have no problem recycling. I have a problem with the city's cutting of the strap on the lid. If the wind is strong, it blows it over and even though my trash in in plastic bags, it still has to be up-righted and that is more muscle than I have available; I usually only have 1 or 2 bags, so it is not weighted enough to stay upright. I also use plastic bags in the recycle bins to close and tie on windy days so that I don't have to chase cartons down the street, and I wish my neighbors would do the same. The next time I have to clean up after them, I will put it in a plastic bag and leave it on their doorstep instead of tidying up after them.

It would be nice to have some kind of reward system, based on how much recycling you have, for points to be used at area businesses. I have heard advertisements for this on the Wichita radio stations and thought it sounded like a great idea.

I think it is rediculous that the city forces us to use their service. We should be able to use whatever service we want and recycling should be an option. You have any idea how much money the city makes from the recycling program and yet we pay more than most towns and have to do more work, its a complete joke. Not to mention it is stupid that just because I take pride in my yard and choose to bag up my clippings and rake up my leaves I have to be punished and forced to take it myself to the dump.
