Do You Think H1N1 Is a National Emergency?

This move is not so much a declaration of an actual emergency, but a streamlining of the red tape that will let authorities act faster. It's unfortunate the president has to declare an emergency in order to do so.

Last I remember, just this past Friday I believe, I heard of a 25 percent probability -- if that is an emergency, then you can change my "I don't know" outlook to definitely, yes. I suspect that some are adducing more fear without just cause.

The Obama admin calls it s "panddemic" which is supposed to be more widespread than an "epidemic". I travel every week and see lots of people I have only heard of one friend or associate that has had this virus. That is evidence to me it isn't even a major concern much less a pandemic.

I'd be curious to see the numbers, side by side, of deaths due to flu during a 'regular' flu season and deaths due to H1N1.
And I'm curious what numbers constitute a "National Emergency".
From what I've read, H1N1 affects the younger more than the elderly, apparently the effects are reverse of the regular flu, where more elderly perish.
Do "National Emergency" measures only apply when young folks are effected?
Dont misunderstand, its heart wrenching that babies and young kids are dying due to H1N1.
    Just questioning the 'declaration'
