I don't have "health insurance" but belong to Samaritan Ministries. We are a group of over 14,000 (I believe its now that high) members and we pay each others medical bills. I pay about $180.00 a year for maintenance. Its going up to $300 a year for bills over $100,000.00. I now pay about $130 a month and I pay it to the person with the medical issue. It doesn't pay for preventive, but at these rates I can pay for my own. If I have a problem I don't have to get an OK from Samaritan, just my Dr.

I have a $300 deductible and can go to any Dr. anywhere in the world.

How can this group do it so inexpensively when it costs hundreds a month for health care.

I know its a lot to do with suing people. Of course Obama will not step on the lawyers toes about that.

He also won't let one get insurance over state lines.

He also won't go in and clean up the system that is being hit by so much fraud its mind boggling.

You don't start a new system, Under Govt., when there is fraud already in S.S. and some of these other govt. agencies.

Look at all the people on early social security. Now the lawyers get people signed up if they have too many pimples and can't work. Makes me sick really.

If the normal citizen handled their private finances like the govt. we'd ALL be broke. Of course we can't print money as these dummies in Washington can.

Dodd & Frank should be kicked out based on their part in the Freddie and Fanny mess. But again, nothing happens to these crooks.

I have Medicare and insurance which pays all expenses. I pay a higher premium but can get care anywhere and it is totally covered without deductibles or co pay
but with changes already made in Medicare I will have to pick up what they no longer wish to cover.. Obama has lied, they have already cut Medicare coverage.
I may have to pay for lab work for the first time in 14 years. They have decided the lab work ordered by my MD was not necessary for my osteoporosis. which is true but it is necessary every three months to monitor side effects of my medication.

I demand that a citizen group be involved in all decision making for companies taken over by taxpayer dollars. The govt, in my book, does not own the companies we do! We cannot trust Congress to do right by we the people and the companies.

I also want a complete accounting of all money Obama spends for campaigning and be certain that we the taxpayers do not pay a cent. It is only right in this tight economy. Can we arrange this?

I do have medicare and a private advantage plan and I do not want the government involved in any way with changing things--it will only get worse if they are hammering it out and around----they could screw up a Chinese fire drill in hell.
I see no controls over drug cost, no open borders for insurance companies, no control on huge hospital charges, no allowing of imported drugs(many of our drugs are imported by companies and re-sold to us) I see no controls over dentist charges and t he list could go on.
It seems to me it is just control over WE THE PEOPLE and those in DC have forgotten who they are working for and sure do not have their listening ears on---maybe they all should contact their insurance companies and get miracle ears!!!!!

Yep I do. But if you have ever looked into the VA you would be surprised at how "well" government healthcare actually is.

I have private health insurance because I am self-employed. I pay over $5000 per year, and it will keep going up as I get older, because that's how the rate charts work. I hardly use the insurance. I also have a $5000 deductible per year, so I pay the first $5000 expenses myself each year. In a typical year, I only use a few hundred dollars' worth in doctor's visits, standard lab tests. However, if I don't keep this type of insurance, if I have some catastrophic event, an accident, or some illness, I will not have insurance and probably wouldn't be able to get it.

I am self-employed, as I said, but not at a high compensation, so this is a huge financial burden to me. On the other hand, I have very good health care when I need it, choose my own health care, and am assured of excellent health care in the event the need arises. So, what to do, huh? I certainly do not feel comfortable putting my future and my health and life in the hands of the government. I have enough trouble just staying on top of things, just me and the doctor.

I love life and, like my elderly mother, hope and intend to keep on living many, many years. They will have to drag us all off this planet kicking and screaming. So, health care is a must.

Peaches & Cream: We, when self employed, couldn't afford health care for our employees. My husband is VA, "now". I was paying about $800 a month or more. If we went to AZ, in order to be covered, it cost about $100-$200 a month more. Thats why the crossing state lines would be great.

I have the Samaritan Ministries (not health insurance) program which I mentioned above. 3 claims = NO problems. I am so blessed to have it.

I'd rather pay than have the government decide whether or if I receive treatment. They snicker at our worries, but none of them will sign up. I wonder why?!! They don't give a damn about us. I've contacted Feingold to no avail. He knows whats good for me. And whats really good for me is NO VOTE FOR FEINGOLD in the future.

These employees (which they are) of we, the people, are suppose to do "OUR" business. They get in, get dirty, and its corruption as usual.

I wonder how large our fines will be. I don't have health care like others but it works great.

Will I be fined big time? Probably. ANd we're just living on social security. They'll screw us blind yet!

Thats what those get for voting in Obama and the dems running everything. We have to thank those who voted for our fear, the falling of the dollar, the unemployment, the loss of the good old USA. Yes, thanks to all of you who voted for Obama. You also will get what you didn't really understand because you didn't do your homework like many of us did.

Bush also, should have never ever bailed out anyone.

There are some good people in Washington but too many, both Replublicans & Democrats are corrupt to their core.

I'm NO party person. I vote value and ethics. I think that those who won't vote out of their party for some stupid reason are like those stuck in a cult.

your idea sounds like a winner to me. But remember we are talking
about a group that wants complete control of everyone. If anything like that
happened they would be losing control over the people-not going to
happen.

OBAMA & HIS SECRET SOCIETY
2009-10-27 04:35:57 ET

Nadine: Yes, your ideas are right on. BUT, this is a government that does all by dead of night and behind closed doors. Secret.

This is about the most secret administration ever with a man who ran on a Platform - of open govt. Another Obama lie. Too many to even add up.

He was and is the pied piper. People fell for it.

I think there are a lot of young people that like the "Its All About Me". An "Owe Me" generation. My husband and I have spoken about this for a while and it was enlightening to have Glenn Beck bring up the exact thing today.

I'm 62. I grew up never ever dreaming of govt. help or subsidies. I bought my own home in my 30's. I saved for it.
I had to actually read a contract. Had to determine if I could pay. I figured what I could afford (and it was a small old home-my 1st home) and made my payments each month and on time.

I would have never thought to blame others for my own failings. I am the only one in control of my actions. My parents wern't perfect and neither was I. When we are grown the decisions we make are based on our own judgement and are not caused by anyone or anything.

Barney Frank & Chris Dodd should be bodily kicked out of the Senate. They pushed for loans for people who couldn't afford them. Than those same people were stupid enough to take out loans for homes they couldn't afford. Do I feel sorry for them? Absolutely not.

If a person becomes ill and I mean cancer or something whereby they can't sell on a computer or do something, anything, that is different.

Too many people on public help, s.s., who have no right and no business.
