I think this will happen in-time, no doubt MoL would like sooner rather than later, but this will be referred to the EU Competition agency for review. I think that there will be a review/rationalisation o of the route structures, particularly where they both currently operate to, or in the case of Ryanair close to! There maybe a freeing up of slots at Dublin, cannot see that one going down well.
What he really wants is the transatlantic routes, he will roll-out an amended LCC model out on the North Atlantic to New York initially, to exploit the Irish/Aerican bond.
He will bring the ongoing debate about Shannon in, probably retaining it as a transatlantic staging post, at a much reduced fee/or free! It is all in the plan.
