Brigid ... it's never too soon to 'Bless and Release.' I have spent the last few years doing exactly that. I think it was easier when we realized our adult daughters had already taken what they wanted for their homes. In some cases - Amazon for books, Craig's List for large, bulky items - you can even generate some 'tax-free' income.
(What would you do with all of 'it' if you won the PowerBall jackpot?)

On one hand I think it is going to take a long time for housing prices to recover, but on the other hand I feel concerns about Cap and Trade are overblown. IF it does pass, and IF people actually follow it, and IF it doesn't get rescinded because it destroys the economy, then we all be in for a huge round of downsizing. As the Spartan said "IF".
If you change your homestead do it for your own reasons, not because of a Government mandate.
