Ron Paul? Paul is heads and shoulders above all the losers you mention.

Those of you who didn't vote for Ron Paul in '08 may have a chance to redeem yourselves in 2012. The rest of these faux candidates will only give you more of the same. Endless spending and endless wars.
Chad - 15 years ago
Considering how the media have come around and admitted that Ron Paul was right about our financial problems and all the candidates laughed and Ron Paul in the last election maybe you should include him.....It appears he's the only one that knows what he's talking about. Unfortunately American's don't like to hear the truth, we're broke, we've over extended ourselves, and we're doing nothing to fix it.

It has taken me years to admit to this, but I guess it's time for me to accept the truth and that is Ron Paul is clearly the best candidate for President of the USA. I supported Romney, but he is just another talking head with very little substance and to see what Ron Paul is doing (with HR 1207 and his incredible speeches), I am just amazed with him, but equally upset with the Republican Party and media for lambasting him into some fringe voice when all he does is speak the truth. I have been involved in the Republican party for over 30 years now and have helped raise money for candidates throughout my state and the country. I am now going to dedicate my time towards any candidate who sings and practices the same voice of reason as Congressman Ron Paul even if someone else in the GOP has differences of opinions. In fact, I really do not care what my peers may say, they are just as responsible for the problems that we are facing and instead of being part of the problem, I have turned a new leaf and am now part of the solution. Ron Paul 2012! Let the rEVOLution begin!

I'm looking forward to voting again for the same candidate I voted for last year: Ron Paul. He has more grounding in the root problems of our economic problems than any member of Congress and has more international respect as well. He alone is prepared to make the correct decisions that will restore world trust in our monetary system. By the time of the 2012 election we will have seen such a bloodbath that Ron Paul will be the obvious choice.
As a side benefit, we would no longer have an arrogant SOB in the White House (E.G. Obama and Bush).

Okay.
Sarah Palin: She ran on McCains ticket!! That should be an automatic no. She also resigned as governor of Alaska.
Mike Huckabee: He raised taxes in Arkansas and will only attract the Christian vote. He may be attractive to some, but to independents, never.
Mitt Romney: Massachusetts.
Newt Gingrich: Supports global government. Check out his record as house speaker.
Other: The only possible candidate I see is Ron Paul. He is a constitutional conservative that has never voted to raise taxes. His legislation proposals make sense. He is a politician of 'we the people' not 'we the government'. Check him out it you haven't. There are some awesome youtube videos on him and if you google him, you will be surprised!

Your poll is meaningless if it doesn't include the most important choices.
PUT RON PAUL in the poll, instead of irrelevant Newt Gingrich - then you'll really see who America wants.
So... where is Ron Paul's name? He is so much more popular these days(seeing as he has proven himself right for so long) that it is ignorant not to include him on this poll. He is the MOST conservative Republican holding office and has done his best to vote in accordance to the Constitution. He is the Godfather of the Tea Parties and is the reason why we are starting to finally see REAL issue discussed on the MSM - with a biased point of view, unfortunately, but at least things like The Federal Reserve is under scrutiny. A very good reason that he should be on this poll is that he has brought passion and youth to the GOP through his 2008 presidential campaign and his current Campaign For Liberty. He has given a reason for young people to be a Republican and that's a lot more than the entire GOP can say for themselves. I always laugh every time the GOP asks the question, "How can we bring more young people to the party?" They needn't look any further than Ron Paul and his message of true Liberty. THAT is what brings passion and youth to a cause! That is what brought me, a 25 year old, to the GOP.
What other GOOD choice do you have?:
Sarah Palin - Way too over-hyped to make her look as if she is a libertarian(Glenn Beck & Fox News). She'll be pounded by the MSM media if she makes a run for the Oval Office. Too much baggage.
Mitt Romney - You know for a damn good fact that he has politically shot himself in the foot with Romneycare. I would know because I live in Taxachussets. Forget about it. Thanks for the Healthcare via forced taxation, Mittens.
Mike Huckabee - Theocracy?
Newt Gingrich - Ahahahahahaha!!

Romney is as bad as Obama. He foisted Romneycare (the template for Obamacare) on Taxachusetts, and he is owned by the same bankers who own Obama. Ron Paul is the only choice!

Where's Ron Paul? He should be top of the list as the only one who has any idea of what has happened, what will happen if we don't change course, and a plan for getting it done. Marginalized again. How sad.

I think it is too early to tell at this point, however, I like Romney's chances if the economy stays in the tanker ( as I think it will) and if Obama continues the appeasement foreign policy stance on Iran and North Korea. Romney has his p's and q's when it comes to economy and is writing op-eds and giving speeches on foreign that he has the right views. I am sorry, I cannot see Palin being the nominee as she did not finish her term and has 0 foreign policy. Huckabee is the "awe shucks" candidate that played the class card against Romney (as did McCain) during the election. Since when did we Republicans blame anyone for working hard, making money and succeeding? Just did not fly with me. I can see the elements of Ron Paul in the 2012 campaign, however, Paul would be 78 or 79 in 3 years I just don't see him running. I would also look for Cong. Mike Pence to get in and several others that we do not know about. My money is on Romney as he is doing the things needed to get the momentum (fundraisers for candidates, giving speeches, raising money). I think Romney has the best portfolio and believe he will be the best choice to combat Obama.

I doubt we can find a more thoughtful, smart, presidential candidate than Mitt Romney...He has the least skeletons in his closet than any of them..I have seen Mitt shoveling, cooking for charities with his jeans on. He moved himself to Cali. As far as Huck goes, he was not fiscally responsible..And was not careful about saying bigoted remarks about Mitt's religion. And pardoned many a criminals..So No One is perfect, but Mitt is seasoned and a private sector success.Mitt has been a fine steward of his money and I think he would set this country back on it's feet. WE NEED HONESTY in the W.H. I trust Mitt Romney..2012!!!Mitt is fully qualified to run this country...

I feel Mitt is the best man for the job. Huckabee is a nice guy, but I do not want to see a born again christian in our highest office. Poor Palin just doesn't have it, and the jury is out on Gingrich. Doesn't look too promising, does it?
David - 16 years ago
Palin is dumb as a post. The liberal press woudl fry her: family hypocrite, govenor quitter, IQ = 22, etc. If she's our candidate, get used to Obama.
Most of the current Palin votes would proabaly go to Huckabee if she's out. Huck's considered the SoCon. But Huck only has three more IQ points than Palin, (and at least he finished his term) but both appeal to the coal minin', moon shinnin' Southern Red Neck type. Unfortunaltely, they vote too.
I would kill to see a Romney/Gingrich (in any order) ticket.
Romney probably will probably do better this time than he did in 2008. He now has national name recognition (he had none in 2007) which took a lot of hard work and funding to achieve. He has much less of a barrier concerning his religion to overcome as well this time too. I'm not saying he was greatly impeded in the elections because of it, but he had to spend nearly two years of time and energy overcoming that stigma - 2006 polls and 2008 polls show drastic improvement in that regard. 2012 should be better. Additionally the were some tactical mistakes that Romney made in 2008 and you can be sure that the campaign will make corrections.
QuoVadisAnima - 16 years ago
Romney probably won't do as well this time out as he did in 2008. He's got Massachusetts-care hanging around his neck like a millstone & he was a TARP cheerleader - neither one of those supports the idea of him as an economic wizkid politically.
Things could change, but his opponents will probably be able to do a lot of damage with those in our current conservative resurgence.
I like Palin, but she has to find a way to overcome her Dan Quayle stigma in order to get anywhere and 2012 is, in all probability, not enough time.
Pawlenty is a nice guy, but no charisma - and I've heard from folks in his state that he will have some baggage of his own to contend with. Plus, he looks to be the guy that the GOP hierarchy may be pushing this time out - that could be the kiss of death with our TEA party climate right now.
I'm convinced that Huckabee is the best shot we've got at taking the WH back.
You don't hear about it on the MSM, but he took AR from a major deficit to an almost $3bn surplus while he was governor - and he did it while working with a Democrat legislature who hated him so much that they nailed his office door to the chamber shut!
Here's a guy who can handle partisanship because he has dealt with it at its worst! Not by using nuclear options, but by winning enough of them over to get them all to work together when it mattered.
So many of today's pols encourage the division & animus between us because they can profit politically by it. Wouldn't it be awesome to have a guy in office who actually wanted to see our country united and had the ability to initiate that healing?
Ron Paul? Paul is heads and shoulders above all the losers you mention.
