This Day in Music want to know what you think about Susan Boyles version of The Rolling Stones Wild Horses. Feel free to leave a comment. Go to -http://www.thisdayinmusic.com/pages/wild_horses for more info.
Do I prefer a classic stones song, or Boyle.
Are you high?
Easy question...I prefer Susan's version! I'd never heard of "Wild Horses" before listening to her sing it, and I think it's beautiful! Never much cared for the Stone's singing.
If reports are to be believed, even Mick himself prefers Susan's version, and who am I to argue with the great Stones frontman! It is a hauntingly beautiful version and it has already been lauded the world over. No contest in my opinion!
I am die hard Stones fan, so was rather taken aback when I heard that Susan Boyle had covered Wild Horses. But I have to agree with Mick, it is breathtakingly hauntingly beautiful - and I loved it. Go Subo, you really have made the audience rock!
When I heard that Susan Boyle was going to cover a Stones hit, I had a lot of fun on YouTube listening to sooooo much of the old Stones stuff. I had pretty much decided that As Tears Go By would be the song Susan would cover, so when it turned out to be Wild Horses, I was surprised. **Then I heard Susan's Wild Horses, her gorgeous voice soaring. PERFECT choice, gorgeous song, truly amazing voice....!!!** Susan Boyle, you ROCK! You rocked the WORLD! (Hahah, I bet even old Arse ahead of me by a few in the comments will agree once he has a listen to Susan's version!)
The most breathtaking rendition ever. Not even close
I love Susan's version of this cover - and I ain't gonna argue with Mick J.
I love the Stones and Mick Jagger since I was a small kid. I would not care to hear an interpretation of most of the great, classic songs. This is, however, a lesser-known piece, not so deeply connected to the Stones as others. The two interpretations of Wild Horses are very different. If I have to choose, in this case, I will pick Susan Boyle's version. It is very unique, has a haunting, overworldly atmosphere.
I grew up listening to this classic Stones song and loved it. As an adult I still love it but I equally love Susan Boyle's version. As far as I'm concerned they could be two different songs released 40 years apart with the same title. I hear two different genres of music. Susan Boyle's voice is breath taking, Mick's is classic. Have to love them both!
I've nothing against Susan Boyle, but I'm now very tired of X Factor and Simon Cowell talking over the music biz with these awful TV shows, (resulting in some really bad records ending up in the charts). Why can't they try and find some good new songwriters instead of a bunch of frustrated karaoke singers churning out classic songs.
It's disgusting that this talentless c-lister is covering a classic.Once again a X-factor contestant doing a cover, taking the easy option. Now wait for every Tom,Dick and Harry covering it on future x-factor auditions. A case of jumping on a passing bandwagon. After all alt-country pioneer, and huge influence on the Stones, Gram Parsons was permitted to cover it on his album and released it a year before the stones actually did, such was Richards' and Jagger's appreciation of the man. Not that the same can be said of Susan Boyle...
