Local officials recently unveiled a rail plan for the metro area they hope to get financed through stimulus funds. What do you think?

OF COURSE it will raise taxes. Even if it's paid purely out of stimulus bribes, where do people think that money comes from? It's stolen from us! Whether through direct above-the-table taxation, or the hidden tax of money printing created inflation, we are forced under threat of violence to pay one way or another.

Kansas City, MO has the Federal Government planted firmly in its rectum, and the City Council loves every inch of it. That's why I left and moved to Independence. KC had committees organized to decide what to do with the stimulus money before the checks were even cut. When the Feds inevitably fall under their own crushing behemoth weight, KC will implode as well, and we can not allow ourselves to fall with them.

Independence for Independence!!

You have got to be kidding me. We do not have a bus transportation system in Independence that meets the needs of our community and they want to implement a rail system! They have cut the bus routes, raised the fare and if you want to be to work on the square by 9:00 AM you will have to leave from 7:00 - 7:30 AM and wait a hour for what used to take 10 minutes. Lets spend the money on sidewalk systems and bus systems that meet the needs of our residents rather then a rail system that still will not get you to work on time.
