I don't believe the legalization of marijuana would yield any benefit to the average consumer. Rather, it would simply put the control and regulation of the substance further into the hands of the government. Great, so marijuana is legal, but now the wonderful government we have established can tax the hell out of it and regulate the potency and amount of the substance in circulation. And I'm sure that this of course will lead to the development of new laws to further increase the profit of political crooks. Imagine, a whole new set of laws upgraded so that they can deploy the police state to hunt down more "criminals" so they can once again rob the american people with new fees and fines in order to (in the goverment's bulls*** terms), "protect and maintain the health and safety of its citizens". Awesome, so now that MJ is legal, I'm legally allowed to have up to, let's say 4 grams in possession. All right, but if its found in my car, I get fined, if I have 4.1 grams, I get a ticket, if I'm "viewed as a threat" because I am high in public, I get a fee. And the DA can still prosecute all the potheads they want. And today's teens would love it, they can sit on their ass all day and smoke and let mama and papa take of them! Brainwashing society more and more by providing a twisted work ethic and encouraging young generations that laziness prospers. Kids are lazy enough, and doing this will surely make things worse. What happens when kids have nothing to do? CRIME! More money, more control. See the cycle developing? All works great huh? Screw that, legalizing marijuana will only further the government's current stranglehold on a nation already brainwashed and hypnotized by the corporate run mass media. In turn, this policy would also truly eliminate the private harvesters of the substance. Sweet! No more competition for the goverment, and guess what!? if we find you growing, you still get arrested! So tell me, what's so different here then when it was illegal? And since the private growers have all been locked up or gone out of business, the potency of the substance would severely diminish. Again, the law wins. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't think people who smoke are gonna enjoy toking bag after bag of some dirt brown pot. So yay! Let's legalize! Because the goverment will get exactly what they want. Further control on it's people through law enforcement, further taxation of the nation, and the inevitable downfall of privateers. In the economic state we are in today, our trustworthy politicians would love to pocket another dollar of your taxes! By the time you make MJ legal, no one will even want to smoke. Hell, you probably won't even get a buzz with a product regulated by an agency. Legalzing this substance would bring about just the opposite, it would change or end people's usage entirely. But, I'm sure all of the sheeple out there with no brain of their own to argue otherwise will succumb to it. Keep sleeping sheeple :-) Things will get better if you keep your eyes closed and your mouth shut.
