Would you go to North Korea if you had the opportunity?

Greta would make a great Senator or President, wasting money on a second trip to North Korea for her and her entourage.

I'd totally go.
I am not naive I know they will probably never let you near avg. folks but the more the North Korean people can interact positively with and see foreigners the more their interest in participating in the outside world will grow.

The ruling class knows opening up N Korea to foreigners would spell the beginning of their complete dominance over the hearts and minds of the N Korean people.

That is the whole problem. Their curiosity has been completely extinguished over 60 years. The more they see the more the spirit in them has a chance to re-awaken!!!

Change in N Korea must come from within but the people are so locked down emotionally, so lacking in individuality and in the desire to make personal choices.

I know the world does not get this about us, but Americans want for the world, and places like N Korea, what we want for ourselves. Where we get into trouble is when we take part in nation building.

I don't know why anyone other that possibly a politician would want to visit a country that puts people in jail just for being there. I have no use for communism or their way of life. I would visit South Korea in a heartbeat. I have traveled a lot of oriental countries and really enjoy their and ways. My traveling days are about over but I really enjoy my memories and some of the best of them were in Japan, Formosa, Honk Kong, Philippines and all southeast aisia countries I have visited.

Leo - the government TAKES your money and Fox News EARNS it's money. If you earn your money you are free to do what you want with it and if you take people's money you are NOT ALLOWED to go on vacations with your, friends, family, godparents etc. and call it government business.

Greta-DON'T GO! After what happened to those two lady journalists it seems plain stupid. The rulers wiil only allow you to see what they want(certainly not the prisons and "work camps"). Why give them publicity?
