Relax guys! Yassar Arafat recieved the NPP as well. What does that tell you?In the elite circles, it probably stands for what ever they want it to mean. President Obama changed the attitude of the world toward the United States by talking about diplomacy and peace. It is a great recognition for the United States. I think he desrves the peace prize.

As an extremely disgusted American Citizen, I'm very disappointed that someone more deserving was overlooked by the Nobel Peace Prize selection committee. A humanitarian whose lifelong work aiding the poor seems to me to be the better choice. Obama should be ashamed of how he has handled the Honduran Political situation, demanding the reinstatement of a dictator-wannabe who has violated their democratic constitution and blatantly disregarded the supreme court decision, strictly for his own agenda. A president who makes an uninformed decision, then compounds the error by placing economic sanctions on one of the poorest countries- just to avoid admitting the mistake- should not receive any kind of humanitarian award. A president who is flagrantly siding with known dictators and communists, while claiming to instil democracy is simply being clever enough to fool the rest of the world. Deceitful behavior should not be rewarded. It is ludicrous.
