I wonder if there is any way to know the percentage of votes that come from campus vs. the community?

They should at least be required to black out the windows as not to expose young children and whoever else doesn't want to see almost pornographic photos on the packaging or ads. Let's just be tasteful here even if you don't agree that it's downright wrong and disgusting.

I would like to know how it is unlawful to sell personal items in a store and the local store down the street can sell magazines as long as they keep a piece of cardboard in front of them? What is the difference? Are they not both the same thing? I don’t want my kids seeing or buying either.

There are more paramount things to worry about???

In some of America’s states it is a shame that “sex” and anything that deals with is viewed as “dirty”. I wonder if we all thought that way would there be people??? Understand, if all the merchandise are within legal rights then what is the problem? Auburn is a wonderful city however; there are a lot of “conservative thinking people of age” that need to understand that it is education that will ensure what is right and not the narrow thinking of strict protect. Whether you explain and educate now or later “sex” is a part of the human life.

Whether it is legal or not, this type of business will drag down the neighborhood. I wouldn't want them next door to my business.

It would hurt your business?? How could it hurt someone else business by being next door to a novelty shop? Drag down a neighborhood?? Do you honestly think that hoodlums and scum bags are the only one in need of help in the bedroom?? I am just not understanding that. If I had a restaraunt next foor to it, I would be ok with it. Patrons could come and have a romantic meal and go home and take care of their marital problems with the devices that they bought from the novelty store. All of it is taxed, everyone makes money and is happy. We all win!! It's 2009 for crying out loud !

I enjoy sex! I don't do it in the yard, or the street, or on a bench downtown! If you don't want to see what I do, don't break into my house. Hence, if this place bothers you, don't walk in!!!

I am a retail businessman. Capitalism is the most successful Socio-Economic form of human organization yet discovered. Let Capitalism take it's course. If the Auburn \ Opelika consuming public does not want an Adult oriented store in this community let them vote with their Dollars(or lack there of)! Otherwise let them add to the Communities coffers with Sales Tax revenue. Auburn ran off Tiger Town. Are the 'Powers that Be' intent on running off all retail businesses in the area?
