Should Pennsylvania allow hunting on Sundays? (Poll Closed)

Not allowing hunting on Sunday is just silly, as well as offensive to people who are working for a living.

You should not do anything on Sundays it is God's time

Actually Sat. is Gods day, the bible states on the 7th day he rested, the 7th day of the week is Sat.....The commandment states remember the Sabbath and keep it holy...Sabbath in the bible is Sat...but society has switched it....

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Six days you shall labor, and do all your work;
but the seventh day is a sabbath to the LORD your God;
in it you shall not do any work, you, or your son,
or your daughter, your manservant,
or your maidservant or your cattle,

As a Christian, my sabbath is celebrated on The Lord's Day, Sunday - which is Christ's day of resurrection. I believe that the creatures in the wild need a day of respite, and we humans can freely walk in the woods without fear for our lives.

I always enjoy reading the hypocritical religious freaks who try to push their nutty beliefs on others. You guys should stay home and pray on Sundays and let us Hunters enjoy our freedom to Hunt. God bless and shut up.-joe

Sunday is the 1 day we can walk SAFELY in the woods and teach our YOUNG about the wildlife & nature... Yes I am a hunter 6 days a week is enough.

The deer and other hunted wildlife need a day to not be stressed out. I want to be able to walk in the woods without worrying about a hunter mistaking me for a deer. 6 days a week of hunting are plenty for adequate harvesting of the deer herd.

Farmers are very much opposed to the proposal and have a strong political voice that is listened to (as they should) - would not recommend eating this elephant in one bite - start out slowly adding species to already existing Sunday opportunities based on sound biology with the least impact to season lengths and existing management strategies - consider limited expansion of Sunday youth opportunities

Ok, lets put this on a level that separates church and state. Hunting is regulated by state law, why should I, a non church going individual, be expected to live by a law that is obviously set up for church going individuals who were upsed at the fact that someone who was not in church might hunt on their property while they were gone? Be serious and think about it, it makes no sense no matter how much you try to put God in the equation. I have been closer to God out in the wilds hunting then I ever was sitting in the hypocritical buildings built to "honor" God.

Oh wait, if Hunting was allowed on Sundays, who would pay tithes, who would put money in those offerings? Who would keep up the look of religion in this Godless land? How long would it be before you hypocrites would be going to your church group and making Monday the Sabbath.

A hunter supporter wishes to state that at least one day of the week, especially over the fall season, is needed for those that do not hunt to also enjoy the woods without fear of being shot, although I realized there are no guarantees of not being shot any where we go these days. Are hunters the only ones allowed to enjoy the beautiful fall weather as the leaves are turning? No one else is allowed to enjoy those same pleasures just because they are not carrying a bow? You have six out of seven days in the woods to enjoy and hunt. Let the rest of us have at least one day, please.

As an avid hunter, six days a week is enough. Non-hunters and people who just want to enjoy the outdoors without fear of being shot need a day too. If you can't kill something in six days a seventh day isn't going to help. And if you can't hunt except on the weekend because you're working during the week then, yes, you only have one day in which to hunt. Well, that's all non-hunters have in the woods each week anyhow during the season whether they're working or not so stop whining about it. As hunters we need to do what we can to keep from isolating the non-hunting public any more than they already are...it'll be good for our reputations.

No god, no state, just sense. Why not Sunday hunting? It's done in NY as well as other states and it works. Land owners can control their property and who has access on what days, or just make hunting on government lands.
Also, I certainly appreciate the desire by anyone to walk in the outdoors without concern. There are many beautiful parks and outdoor spaces where hunting is not allowed. Folks can take advantage of those spaces during hunting season. I may be incorrect, but I believe it's dollars spent through license sales by hunters that purchased the state game lands I hunt on. Did the mountain biker, hiker or bird watcher pay anything? Don't believe so.
PA really needs to get out of the dark ages in general. I want to buy a car on Sunday, take it hunting and stop at the grocery store for a bottle of wine on the way home.

I believe we should allow hunting on Sundays,especially for kids. I know alot of kids who play youth football and soccer. They have practice every night after school and games on saturday afternoon. Sunday hunting would give them a chance to get out there. We need as many kids continuing our hunting tradition as we can. I own a farm myself. lets be honest, just how much does it inconvienience you if someone else is out hunting. The majority of the time if it weren't for the sound of the shot you wouldn't even know they are there.

We non-hunters need a day when we can go to the woods and take a walk, listen to and watch the birds and just enjoy all that Mother Nature has to offer. We all need some quiet time in our lives. Do not take this from us!

to the non hunters: how many of you actually drive to remote areas of the mountains and walk miles inward, not on trails but over rocks and across creeks? what nobody? exactly. Non hunters have plenty of happy little state parks with picnic tables and trails that take you safely into nature. Which if you're worried about the big bad hunters mistaking you for a deer you'd want to be in a safe wooded area anyway- where hunters aren't allowed. Hunters have their state game land and non hunters have their state parks. Hunters go into remote mountain areas where your happy Christian family wouldn't walk on sunday anyway. Stop forcing your beliefs on others. Apparently separation of church and state doesn't apply anymore. Its archaic and biased and hunting should be allowed any day.
