Services? What services? We get NOTHING (besides snow removal) for the almost $60k we provide to the town of Richmond each year. Instead of raising taxes, they should do some down-sizing at Town Hall.
How about the state, cities, and towns finding a way to provide the same services for less money? Don't count on the individual taxpayers to resolve the state's financial problems. That's why we have elected officials. Obviously, they're not qualified to do their jobs. I don't think that any sane person would want to pay more taxes for any reason! We're already taxed to the hilt.
Coventry is already changing how "services" are delivered and many of the town employees have such nasty attitudes that maybe they need to be replaced.
I think towns should take a real good look and get rid of the excess and stay on a budget.
What a joke. What the heck are services? Seven hours after it snows a plow might come down my street in Hopkinton so they can plow in my mailbox so I can't get any mail. The fire deparment looks like a luxury hotel, and has more "toys" than any other town I've seen, yet I doubt there is even one structure in Hopkinton that would require a ladder truck. Hazmat Units, brandy new ambulances, and oh, don't forget our extrodinary police force whose main objective is to meet their speeding ticket quota's for the month to rake in even more money. Disgusting.
