Should taxes be RAISED on people who make MORE than $250,000/year

If you want to stimulate the economy, you need to have more money floating IN the economy. Therefore, it just makes sense that lowering withholding taxes, even if temporarily, would get more out there. If you give a family an extra $25.00 - $50.00 a week chances are good that they will spend it, helping the overall economy. If Congress raises taxes on those folks, only Congress will be spending money. And personally, I think we've spent enough money on saving the mice.

Joni is right, of course, and it makes perfect sense, so that must be the reason that lower tax rates are not even on the table.

Do you think those guys pay taxes in the first place? No.
Most of them are the people who supply jobs and goods. If taxes are raised well they raise the price of their goods/services to pay those taxes. If the taxes keep going up and they keep raising their prices people will not buy those goods/services hence leading to layoffs in order to keep making a profit. Layoffs mean that people are unemployed (for those who do not know). When unemployed they have no money to buy anything hence those companies they worked for lose even more money.
I am not an economist but I do have basic common sense.

The top 1 percent of wage earners already pay 50 PERCENT of all taxes collected. If you keep taking more and more money away from rich people they stop hiring people to work for them. Has anyone ever worked for a poor guy before?

I voted NO. why? I worked all my life in many Hospitals as a RN. Some time privet prctis Doctors make 250,000. Doctors are not rich. If one docter marry another doctor then there combine income is basicly over 250.000. I do not consioder them rich. They work for it--------------take call, work weekend, do not take vacation. Doctors job is not 9 to 5 and monday thrugh friday. They work for it to earn money. They also go to collage for 8 years. They do residency for 2-8 years. Then they are real Doctoret of Medicine(MD). I strongly belive that their home bound wife, husband and children enjoy the money-------Doctors saves our lives.

Taxes should be paid at a rate of 10% by every person between the ages of 18 and 70 years old.

No food stamps, welfare checks, housing credits or ANYTHING FREE should be given FOR ANY REASON, to ANY physically sound person between the ages of 18 and 70 yerrs old.

My Gosh People! What in the world are they thinking? Stop the SPENDING and taxes will not have to be raised! Taxing anyone reduces their ability to invest, purchase, and save. If my daughter had a cool-aid stand and the city wanted to collect taxes on what she made then she would obviously have to increase her prices to cover the tax and would not be able to afford a folding table instead of the old cardboard box she works off of. Just the threat of allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire, which will affect every family who now pays taxes, and raising taxes on the so called wealthy has caused the recession to progress. Lower the taxes, more revenue will come in and the business people will stop worrying about their bottom line and start hiring again. Spreading the wealth does not work.
