Graham Albertini is small in stature but he has a lion's heart. A year before the mortgage crash, Albertini stood up all by himself and courageously blew the whistle on the irresponsible mortgage appraisal practices being conducted by WaMu and other big banks. At the time he was criticized by the banks who tried to drum him out of practice. Ultimately, however, Albertini was proved right when the stock market crashed a year later, and he was subsequently honored as Appraiser of the Year. I agree with some of the other Albertini supporters.
To suggest that only candidates with a long political track-record are qualified for the assessor's position is naive and poised for missing opportunities for fine public talent in newcomers.
