I second third and fourth what Amaranth said, and let me repeat it. At the age of 18 Elijah carried the most successful movie trilogy ever made. The tears on Peter Jackson's face as he watched Elijah do his last scene say it all.

Elijah Wood's performance in LOTR - over 2 years in total - was not merely exhausting, but spectacular. As on all of his previous films (even at 10 years old he was one of the best actors his directors and crew had ever worked with, and at 13 the famous film critic Roger Ebert called him "the most talented actor in his age group in Hollywood history"), his fellow actors as well as Peter Jackson were blown away by his acting as well as his total professionalism and dedication (".... he has awesome craft and technical ability ... it's quite humbling to see so much talent in someone so young" was one comment by PJ. Even the hard-bitten crew would burst into spontaneous applause after he nailed some of the hardest scenes. There is no comparison between what Elijah did - carried the most successful movie trilogy in history at the age of 18 - and standard movie roles. He deserves to win this. I hope that one day he wins the Oscar he deserves.

    (Totally my point of view)
I am very proud of RDJr's come back from many vain and foolish actions to reclaime his possition as an outstanding Actor. Iron Man was a really good Movie. It was much better then I expected. The acting was also much more then I expected, but I think they could have expanded on GP's role.
EW and just the Epic Movie 'Lord of the Rings 1 2 3, had to be exhausting doing them back to back. EW's being in 75% of all three. I can't see how you can even measure it to any other 'Just one' movie or acting role. One role in one Movie or One role in Three back to back Movie's......Does anyone see the challenge it would have to be to vote on just the two Movie's. Lord of the Ring's is a acting and Movie that should be in a catagory of it's own. For all the Actor's in it, not just EW. I hope that made scence to anyone.

Honestly... playing Frodo was a MUCH more challenging, exhausting and taxing role. Elijah should be commended for his doing it. Anyone saying he doesn't deserve this needs to examine what goes into a role--how hard someone works for it. RDJ, while a great actor, didn't have to kick his backside as much as Elijah did. Face it. Elijah nailed the role, worked hard for more than a year and gave us an awesome hobbit.

Ballot stuffing? Well (until this round apparently), the poll was open to as many votes as you wanted. "Vote early and often" as the article says. (Though, I question why it still says that even though it's become limited).
And if you think there weren't also DK/Ledger fanboys voting multiple times, too, you're just naive.
It's not like this is a serious academic survey; it's just a bit of fun. So, yes, clearly the actor/film with the largest and most devoted fan base is likely to win. And face it, the LotR fanbase is HUGE.
Personally, if one performance from the films were to be at this point, I would have preferred McKellen's Gandalf. That said, Elijah's the one still in the running, so he's he's my horse in this race. That'd be true for just about any actor in LotR, with the exception of Orlando Bloom (the only actor I know of who's been outacted by both a CGI tree and a monkey).

There is no way that Frodo is a better acted or memorable character than the Joker. I suspec there is some serious ballot stuffing by LOTR fanboys (of which I consier myself one. But come on!) Good luck Tony Stark!

looks like the rules have changed for the final round...only 1 vote counts....so it will all be fair and square...

I can't believe Elijah Wood made it to this round...not that I disagree with that result. I guess he has a very devoted fan base as does Lord of the Rings.
