Did Washington do enough to win the second 787 line

The current government leadership in the state of Washington is as stupid as it is liberal. The writing is already on the wall, and Boeing will slowly move their production lines to South Carolina or any other state where they will get significant tax breaks and financial incentives to operate. Add to that, the fact that South Carolina workers have already voted to drop their union contract and union leadership and you begin to see the incentives stacking heavily in their favor. It is extremely niave to sit back and say that the Seattle based work force is superior to the point of pricing Boeing out of competitive contracts (just think of the current state of the automotive industry) and not expect a corporate entity like Boeing to make adjustments to remain competitive. Further, in the current economy (which does not look to markedly improve in the near future) - those valued and experienced Boeing workers will be much more willing to move with their job when that opportunity comes - rather than being stuck in a dying economy and trying to find a new job in a state that will be the last to experience economic recovery under an overburdened and overtaxed business climate.
