I cannot compete in eloquence with the concise and witty encapsulation of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yOqU4-zE5w, a work of genius.
Half of Edinburgh appears to have seen this already, and I would urge those out of touch, ie the politicians associated with this project, to view it and be aware that it perfectly reflects the public mood. "500 million quid to replace the no.22 bus" indeed.

This poll is flawed in two ways

Technically, on many computers, the first checkbox is widely separated (a "no", but in favor of the trams) from the text.

The questions themselves are also both leading and misleading and were obviously written by a tram basher.

This kind of makes nonsense of yesterday's lie that only 1 in 10 opposd the tram fiasco.

The poll webpage definitely has a major display glitch on my particular PC (Windows XP with Internet Explorer v8.0.6001.18702 at 1600x1200).

I think if it's viewed like this on a significant number of PCs you can largely ingore the outcome.

This is a pity, as I expected the percentage of generally anti-tram voters to be circa 80-90%

The tram will be a great enhancement to the city transport network and it's amazing that so many can be so defeatist about the project. They should travel a bit and see how well trams work in hundreds of European cities to give a vastly superior and more efficient system than our creaking, bumping buses . Come on - get up to date! Or, is is just that some Scots like to trash everything?

This city is incapable of supporting trams ie narrow and congested streets. In the continent the streets are much wider and more capable of supporting trams without causing traffic disruption.
What with the overwhelming busses and in the future trams, who will be travelling on them as at this rate the city numpties (fathers) will drive out all the residents and who will then pay for this mess.
