How do you like Kris Allen's "Live Like We're Dying" (Poll Closed)

WOW! That is one dull single. Couldn't it be any more bland and inoffensive? Bit like the vanilla cookie that is Kris himself. This is the best song that they could come up with for the winner? After the debacle of No Boundaries, I'm thinking Simon's comment about Kris (stupid K!) being one of the worst Idol winners is being backed up with serious action.

I think its refreshing to hear a song that is not "oversexualised" like so many songs are these days!! So this is a song that actually has meaning for Kris & many people out there after reading many positive comments elsewhere!!
If you think meaningful lyrics are bland then go & listen to the poppy dance music by Britney Spears etc- now that's bland!!
Cameron, although I quite like this song , I realise not everyone will - but don't discount Kris because of one song. Idol winners always have to get the first single out quickly but have more time to work on their album & use collaborations & their own songs!!David Cook is a good example !!
I'm happy for Kris & think this single will be successful enough to promote well his coming album .

This song of Kris's is so refreshing and enjoyable...oh and side not isabella is a joke and must have not truly listened to the song and the lyrics. Seems like most of the internet world agrees that Kris's song is a hit. Its quite amazing how bitter people still are to the point no matter what Kris released they would have critisized it. So...all in all well done Kris Allen, another perfect and amazing decision by you. Ur songs accually make people feel and stop and think. Im so Glad American Idol found a star like you.

I love the song and was thrilled when it was finally released. I agree that American Idol winners are controlled by 19 and that it is impossible to release a pure Kris Allen song given the grueling tour and press that happens immediately after Kris Allen Won American Idol. The song itself is catchy and has a great message. Kris Allen is one of the best American Idols as he is an artist and in the time constrants did not even have time to lay the guitar track on the song but I know as he sings it live he will put his stamp on it and it will be amazing.I love the song and Kris Allen.

To each their own, but I love the song! It's not the kind of melody I was expecting because I'm used to the kind of songs Kris did on the show, but I'm pleasantly surprised, especially in the "fast-talk, but not exactly rap" chorus he's able to pull off so effortlessly. There's power and passion in Kris' soulful voice that makes the overall positive message of the song worth listening to and thinking about. I can't wait to hear what other surprises Kris has in store!

I liked it. Maybe after a few rounds on the radio I'll learn to love it.

I'll be honest and say I'm not impressed with this cover. The song doesn't play to Kris' strengths. ( IE. The rich mellow voice}. The sound is to thin and completely goes against the organic, acoustic sound we came to know and love from Kris on AI. I hope it does well, but it is not one I would buy!! Good luck Kris!

Kris' LLWD is a great piece. I hope people who are stuck in the 80's music can stop making comments for it reflects how outdated their song choices are. LLWD is current and technically awesome.

Not what I was hoping for from Kris Allen. The touted singer songwriter. A COVER on the B side of the Scripts? Dubbed and over produced to the max.

I wanted an original Allen song. One that played to his strengths.

Please give kris a chance. Afterall it's his first album and all new to him. He has never done this before and being athe winner of american idol is hard enough with all the meetings and traveling. I'll bet toher idol winners felt the same and it took them some time to get adjusted.

Hrt32 needs to get his hearing checked, Kris is a VERY mediocre singer. Even he knows it. Did you see his audition? If this is Kris' introduction --then I feel very bad for him. Sad product Kris. Even sadder, I think this is the best he can do. :(

It was for me not good enough to listen to all the way thru, (The chance he needed was American Idol was and he got it, ) It looked like he was straining to sing it, and I think he's a better straight man comedian. Hes quite adorable and I think teeny boppers will love his innocence. I can't imagine watching him on VHI, etc. I'd turn him off like I do Shakira. iiich.

Just take a few seconds and think about this - What made him won the deserving title ; AMERICAN IDOL ? Through votes from the WHOLE of US am i right? That just shows that MAJORITY of US loves his voice. Don't be bitter fans of other singers. & his rendition is damn right frigging AWESOME. yes, I agree that he's better in other genres and this song does nt bring the best out of him but this is just a sneak peek of his whole debut album. Sorry but this sounds EXACTLY like the original by The Script. I swear it sounds like they had Kris sing over the original music track just like they do with the Idol singles during the show. Kinda sad. Kris is has artistry but isn't a great singer, and this doesn't play to his strengths at all. Very disappointing...I won't buy it.
