Do you intend to get a flu shot this year?

I really have never trusted anything the Gov. says is "good for you." ... Now is no different, only worse. ... this flu shot has been rushed and thrown together in a hurry, no testing, Nope nope nope... And if I were a pregnant woman... no way in heck would I have it. ... I remember "thalidomide" back in the 60s. Nope nope nope. ...

Usually get the regular flu shot but with the government messing around with the swine flu - won't get any shot this year. The government fails miserably at anything they do so sure wouldn't risk my life with them. Scares me they are pushing pregnant women to get swine flu shots. Wonder what problems these babies will have in a few years.

Of course. Smart thing to do if you're of a certain age or otherwise in a risk group.

Even though I'm in the over 55 group with COPD, I'm afraid to get the seasonal flu shot and the H1N1 shot. I've never had one in my life and still feel this way because I don't want to get sick 24 hours after the shot. Some of my friends have gotten in the past, but it only lasted for one day.

Cost is a factor too. The pharmacies are charging $24.99 for the seasonl flu shot and $49.99 for the pneumonia shot. What ever happend to $15 for a shot?

We got the seasonal flu shot last week., we do every year. We have never experienced any side affects. Not sure about the H1N1, our doc knows best when the time comes we'll let him decide if he feels its necessary and go from there....

My wife and I got the Regular Flu Shot as we have for the last 20 years or so. We will not get the Swine Flu Shot because of Government mistrust. There is no way the drug companies could have gotten a flu shot ready with the proper quality control in such a short time.

I do not ever get a flu shot on the advice of my doctor. Everytime that I have ever gotten a flu shot I have come down with the flu, even when given in multiple doses. I have not had a flu shot now in at least 30 years and have had the flu once.

Greta - I answered no only because you didn't separate flu shot from H1N1 shot. Just visited my doc yesterday, he'll have his vaccines in early October and will call me when it's in. I'll take my "normal" flu vaccine, but will NOT take the H1N1 shot since I don't trust it. I was prepared to tell my doc "no" to it, but he didn't even suggest it (thank God since I didn't want to have a debate with one of the best docs I know).

Yes, I get the flu shot every year and will try to get the H1N1 if they are offering it. The hubby is in a high risk category, so it is probably necessary. He had pneumonia 3 years ago and in the hospital for 10 days. Don't want to go through that again.

I do not trust the WHO or our president. I certainly don't trust the pharmaseutical companies who rush vaccines. Their history isn't too good and they cannot be sued or held responsible for any harm. I remember when they used the bird flu shots first in Europe and more people died of the shot than of the flu and they recalled it. The shots contain acceleraors that work on the immune system and there is evidence that there are adverse affects sometimes years later from these substances. It's like playing Russian Roulette. I'm not gotta play.

Since the first flu shots were offered, it was recommended to the very young, the elderly and people with medical problems. This year it is recommended to the young (4 months to 24 years), pregnant women and ones with medical problems. What about the elderly? They have always been included until now.

Yes for both shots. I have several risk factors and I live in a college town (30 students daily in the past month, mild cases though), and no need for the H1N1 booster anymore.
