Why would anyone who grew up in the south pick Paula when they, their mama, and grandma (on both sides) cook the same way! We even have "Paula Parties" and invite friends over. Emeril's food is exciting, but his personality lacking. My pick would definitely be Tyler with his fresh delicious ideas and natural charm.

I love Paula Deen and all that she represents and use lots of her recipes(though I do tend to reduce the amount of butter she uses by half) but I don't know that I consider her a 'chef'. I have an autographed copy of one of Tyler's cookbooks from his Applebee's tour and have eaten at Nola's (one of Emeril's restuarants in New Orleans). If I had a chance to have a meal prepared by any one of this, it would have to be Emeril. I can and do make classic southern cuisine in the tradition of Paula and while I like Tyler, Emeril would win hands down!

My choice would be Emeril because our family tradition is to prepare different ethnic foods each year at Thanksgiving. ( Our traditional dinner is a C'mas.)

Emeril is the reason why I began to view the food network, but when I happened to see Paula Deen one saturday morning early, I was hooked!! Her show was only 30 minutes long, but that was the most food-fabulous 30 minutes this side of the mississippi. I called all of my family and reminded them each saturday, "Ya'll, Paula is fixin to come on!!" I'll almost hock my cast iron to get this chick in our kitchen. Just thinking about it makes me want to slap somebodys grandma!!

Emeril has always been my favorite TV Chef and will always be. While Paula is a very entertaining person, Emeril represent the cajun/soul food in which I am very familiar. I was born and raised in the Southern Creole region and my taste bud must be satisfied with the types of food and recipes Emeril prepares so well! He is the best!!!

You know Miss Paula is my choice to cook our Thanksgiving turkey!! We fry our freshly killed wild turkey anyway. So she is a natural choice!! I am loving that good old Southern cooking and hospitality that she is so famous for. You go girl!
