Yes, and we need to boost his confidence all we can.

No, are you crazy?

That was such a disappointing game. It looks like it is going to be a long season. I know that it was not all Delhomme's fault because, if Smith and the other weapons couldn't produce much, then that means the line wasn't doing a good enough job. But Jake's decision-making seems to be suspect. I believe it is time to allow one of the younger guys to step up and start.

Are you kidding me? He gets $$$$$ and we are expected to "boost his confidence" in order for him to do his job!

For all of you positivie thinkers, please tell me what you saw from last year's Arizona game, through pre-season to make you think there had been any changes made to correct those miscues? Nothing. How can you be surprised? I know the pre-season scores mean that your bench is better than their bench if you should win. But, this team is now 0-6 in how well it looks when it plays. I think more time should have been given to the starters even at the riskl of injury to get better. Instead, Fox does as he usually does and waste the entire pre-season on watching a very few players that may make the team.

As far as Jake is concerned, I don't think it matters if he plays or not. I could not believe the high grades the Charlotte Provda gave the various positions of this team last week. Absolutely amaizing. This team is an average team. They win every other year under Fox. If you want to see this team win, start at the top with the coaches. Please coaches, see me in my office this Monday morning and bring your playbook.

Good thing this team does not play the Patriots this year. (The Independence Patriots). I guess I may need to revise my pre-season win/loss record from 7 - 9 to maybe 6-10 with a few breaks.

Followup. Please contact Obama for both Panther Obamacare and a bailout. They need both immediately.

While Jake is not the perfect QB for the NFL, the Panther's real problem is the offensive line. They have failed repeatedly to protect developing plays in the backfield. They are unable to pick up a blitz. The one bright spot was the center, who left in disgust at the end of last season. Peppers has not played well on defense for over two years. The coaching staff is unable to complain to the officials about offensive holding because we rely on it to keep Jake alive.

FE, the coaches better give you a dictionary first. My God, check your spelling and grammar, please!

We......the average people making average salaries while this egotistical jock making $17,000.000.00 per year needed to boost his confidence????? Give me a break! Who came up with the stupid wording for this poll? While Jake is below average at best, he's still the best QB tht the panthers have. Looks like a lot of people are pulling the panick button only one game into the season. Personally, I can't stand the panthers. My early Christmas wish is that they go 0-16.

Kathy, I'm so sorry having used improper grammar and spelling. I did not realize that since this question had nothing to do with your beloved President,
you would even comment today.

Its time to get rid of the 3 Stooges, Larry Hurney, Moe Fox and Curley Delhomme - they're no good and not funny anymore.

The Panthers now have a chance to tie the Detroit record of 16 losses in a single year, I'm not certain but 20 losses in a row might also be a record. The disturbing fact of the first game which means something, Panther HQ quote, is the sameness, not much enthusiasm, no idea of the what teamwork, blocking and tackling mean. Mr Richardson has started a management process and replaced the top level, if your want a winning pro football team pray he continues the process. Mr Peppers's quote, " We're not worried" means nothing, he will get his 18 million and whether he contributes of not. Seems its always about Mr Pepper.

Any Pro football quarterback who throws 6 interceptions is not suffering from a lack of confidence, he might be living in fear of being hurt because of the lack of others doing their jobs or lack of ability to do his but not a lack of confidence.

Has to be yes, because there is no one else The offensive line is part of the problem and the play calling is another, but Jake may be the biggest problem

Sure Fox will say it is what it is That's encouraging

Jake has plenty of confidence, what he lacks is talent! What the whole team lacks is ability to translate into performance their extremly high salaries. When you are being paid 1m per game, you had better have an all-star performance every game. There needs to be changes made from the top to the bottom and very soon, otherwise I predict a 1-15 season, only 1 win because the opponent will have a bad day.

Jake is at best a back-up quarterback. Its been said by many for last few years.
But the real problem is the front office. Jake could have eight turnovers per game but he's guaranteed $20MM+. Other than personal pride his performance has no bearing on his future well being. What can of business is that Panther front office running ??

Jake is a good everyday quarterback, and that's about it. Look at the recent history of Super Bowl quarterbacks, and you see names like Roethlisberger, Favre, Brady, and the Manning brothers. Sorry, Jake is simply not in the same league with these quarterbacks.

Embarrassing. But we really need to look to the O-line. I'd say Jake is about 40%. the O-Line is 60%. If the guy can't even complete a five step drop, the line is failing.

A year or so ago one of the men on ABC/CBS said Delhomme didn't have the eye of a quarter back. He went on to talk of different quarter backs and how in a split second they could see who was open and throw the ball. Delhomme, he said, did not have that kind of eye and it would be his down fall. So I kept an eye on how Jake acted once he had the ball and that man had it right. Jake can only see one person at a time. I know it is a team effort, but when your quarter back throws interception after interception their confidence is broken. When you see your quarterback can only throw to one or two men on the field, that also breaks your confidence in the "team."

after losing the super bowl and now this, i'd say he needs to say good-bye.

One game? Lets give him 3. this will tell us if everone is own the same page. Little time to pass sure would help. Would have bet that Matt Kenseth did not made the Chase. NOT. We hope that the team will now get down to playing real ball. Hope all goes well for the rest of the year. walon dixon

If the line can't hold. the QB is set up to fail. The offensive coordinator should be able to recognize his OL failure to contain and have a polan B for the offensve gae. It seemed as though the Philly line could just walk through and a QB can't execute OR go to his own plan B if he feels insecure in his support group. All thee are to blame. Jake, the OL and the OC.

Can someone please tell Kathy to shut up? I'm so sick and tired of her bitching about spelling and grammer. If you don't have anything else to say than don't comment! If you want to complain how it is GWBs fault that Jake sucks, than fine, but stop with the worthless complaints on spelling and grammer.

Kathy

BillF, it should be "then don't comment", with an "e", not an "a". "Than" is a comparison, while "then" in your sentence indicates conditional sequence.

We should all meet for breakfast one morning at an iHop or Crackerbarrel or wherever.. All of the personalities can exchange interesting conversation over eggs, toast and coffee. Maybe WBT can come and report on the event.... maybe even moderate!

All three QB's had little to no protection. It's kind of hard to hit the target when you've got defenders in your face every time. They need to shore up the O Line!

And for the record, Kathy's right. When your grammar and spelling is full or errors, you just look uneducated, and people don't take you seriously. Instead of being insulting and blowing her off, open a dictionary.

I just think there is so much more going on behind the scenes... seeing the resignations of some key personnel, the one year deal with Peppers, Coach has been around for a while, Jake is down. We're going to see some HUGE changes this year. I predict coach is on his way out... Who do you think is going to replace him???!! Bill Cower. Huge coach that would fire up the team... He's local, we'd keep Peppers and the defense would change...as well as looking for a fresh start with a rookie QB. I love you Jake, but we've been going to the same games for 4 years now....seeing the same people. The fans need some confidence boosting!
