SC Republican Joe Wilson says he's sorry for yelling, "You lie," at the president during last night's speech. Should he have apologized?

As a matter of fact, I just sent Rep. Wilson a message thanking him for having enough passion and concern for the truth to allow him to go beyond congressional decorum and speak out. I applaud him for his courage!

I'm sure Representative Wilson is as mad as I am at our lying, Socialist President who is ignoring his sworn oath of office and is doing everything he can to turn the United States of America into the United Socialists States of America...I wondered yesterday if anyone was going to stand up and walk out on the President during his speech or if anyone was going to speak up during the speech and it appears so...what this President is trying to do is criminal...this is just the first of what will become a more outspoken protest against his policies to take over America...Americans will not stand for this and Representative Wilson's speaking out is just the beginning...that's why hundreds of thousands of Americans are traveling by bus, car, and every other way imaginable to Washington this weekend to participate in the March On Washington to protest this President and this Congress' actions to take our resources, take our freedom, plunge us trillions of dollars in debt, and reduce the greatest country on the face of the earth to mediocrity....Representative Wilson, join us at the front of the line!

I watched the president's speech and believed he was dishonest. He did lie and deliberately "muddied up the water". I put Congressman Wilson's comment in context and consider the way in which Pelosi and so many others have called those of us who oppose government healthcare takeover, i.e. healtcare destruction, Nazis, brownshirts, etc. Perhaps if the president was brave enough to face crowds of people who were not "Obamatons" with pre-selected or pre-planted questions, he would have experienced public unrest.

Was it unprecedented? Perhaps, but so is this UNCONSTITUTIONAL DISASTER being called "reform". Besides the president did lie when he remarked that this would not add to the deficit and promote competition. I applaud Wilson for what he did.

It is extremely difficult to restrain oneself every time Insane Obama speaks. The major news media is so liberal, that they fail to do their job in finding out the truths surrounding this administration. The storys change with each new consumer pole. The public option is in, no it's out, no it's in, etc. It's media darlings like Chris Matthews that make me sick. They are more interested in what new dress Michelle is wearing than facts that actually mean something.

What needs to be said is for all of you people who want this garbage, is to get the truth out about how much you will pay. It is not a government bailout for anyone that works. If your family makes between $75k and $100k, be prepared to pay about $9k a year for insurance that you will be forced to pay just like auto insurance. If you don't pay it, you will be fined about $4k a year. And, if you have insurance where you work, forget it. The penalty for employers is less than the cost of maintaining insurance on you. Companies will be dropping health care benefits like fruit flies. It will overwelm Obama care just like the cash for clunkers bailout.

This administration wants to pass a bill without most in Congress having read it. Congressman Sprat said it well in his absurd town hall meeting. He said when asked about the Obama care bill about his vote. He said, "I RARELY VOTE AGAINST MY CONSTITUATES". It proves that he is just a puppet in Congress.

Well lets see, Governor tax Purdue thinks you are rich if you are single and make $60k or married and make $100k. So, in this down economy the State of North Carolina raises taxes 2-3% on the"wealthy". Obama care will raise your tax or premium on your
government health care $9k. Cap and trade will raise your heating and air conditioning bill by triple over the next 5 - 10 years, not to mention the increased cost in everything else you buy because of increased fuel cost. Gas will cost an average of 35 cents a gallon more since Cap and Trade calls for all US refineries to shut down. Raw oil is to be sent to Africa and refined. Then shipped back to us at a higher price.

You liberals really have thought all of this through and through. Lets just hope that China does not decide they have had enough of your president's spending habit and stop buying our T-bills. If that happens, the only solution is to make trillions of dollars in cash to pay the debt. That reduces the value of the dollar and will cause inflation rates similar to the Mexican Peso.

With all of this B.S. the liberal tax and spend left wants to do, I'm quite frankly not sure why Congressman Wilson was not the only one screaming.

Joe Wilson trying to take on President Obama is like telling God you could create the world in two days. Joe, you are out of your league. But it is interesting how quickly he apologized. Republicans do not want this scandal to be what everyone talks about. Wilson's behavior just reinforces the inescapable truth that the Republican Party has become a party of southern white rednecks.

You know times are getting better when Fox skips the President's speech (as to be expected), but then hires America's #1 gay woman as the new judge on American Idol. Ellen DeGeneres will show tens of millions of average Americans that gay Americans are totally normal people. There are setbacks (like Joe Wilson's despicable behavior) and there is progress. Ellen will have lasting impact on American culture, while Joe will be forgotten.

While I believe the President lied or exaggerated about multiple facts last night, the outburst was wrong. I would like an answer to this question, because according to one of the President's "facts", there are 30M people who are without health insurance. Which is it, Mr. President 30M or 46M? Either you were you lying during the elections, or, in the deepest recession since the Great Depression, the free market has reduced the number of uninsured by 35% without any government plan? Which is it? I demand an answer.

Traditions and etiquette are quaint and outdated concepts, and the President deserves no more respect than any other human. My favorite is the Iraqi who threw his shoe at Bush. Conservatives apologize for their behaviour, but Liberals never do. Obama is still in campaign mode, promosing everything no matter how rediculous with no consequences. How can he take care of an additional 40,000,000 people with no increase in cost? Just like no one making under $250,000 will see their taxes go up one cent. I have to thank President Obama for one thing. My 24 year old son never cared about politics and had never voted, but Mr. Obama's candidacy and election to the presidency finally motivated him to get politically involved Yesterday, he registered to vote in the "early voting" primaries for Charlotte City Council. I do not beleive this president, he did not give any specifics on "his" plan, just more smoke and mirrors. We got more truth in the commercials that WBTV aired than the whole speech. This is the same government that manages Social Security, a program that according to the board itself is 7.7 Trillion Dollars underfunded to meet its obligations. At first I wanted to put down the whole state of South Carolina as "red neck trash", but that is what is wrong now with this country and the Republican Party. We like to "band together" and put labels on each other, and because we attract more non-thinkers like ourselves, we feel we are in the right. Radio stations like WBT are not helping the situation either. WBT use to be a station that thinking citizens could be proud of, but not any more. If you want to entertain, then entertain. But if you want to be a "talk radio" station, why not represent both sides and represent people of all opinions? The debate over the President's speech to schoolchildren marked a turning point, and the response to last night's speech has been extremely positive. Loafer and Will, you are both wrong. Please read the US Constitution, and you will find that the ultimate authority on the Constitution is the Supreme Court. SCOTUS is the ultimate appellate court of the country. Deciding to not hear a case is, in fact, a decision on the constitutionality of the ruling. Again, for the slow ones out there, we have no disagreement on socialism. I do not identify with any of the three definitions of socialism you list. Neither does President Obama. As to guns, I believe that you do not have the right to own one, but the Supreme Court does not totally agree with me on that issue.
