I would never have thought of a better replacement than Ellen. What a surprise? I'm uber sad Paula left, but super excited that Ellen is here. Four for you TPTB.
Now if they kick kara out and go back to the top 24 without themes in before the top 12 starts, I'll be one happy fan.
I really think that she will be very good as one of the judges, I like her humour
I really like Ellen, but don't think she will be a good judge, what does she know about the music business, or for that matter, she isn't a singer or musician. They need someone on the panel who knows about the music business. But it doesn't matter to me, because I will not be watching American Idol this year. Not without Paula
I love Ellen, but not for American Idol. I too think it should be someone with a music back ground and the public will vote after the judges pick the best in their professional opinion. I won't watch without Paula, she helped to make the show what it is today! Idols loss will be someone elses gain!
I love the idea of ellen as a judge. people say that she doesnt know about the music business, but as she said herself, she stands for the real people! most of the population that watch the show dont know themselvs, and yet we vote for people we like, even though we have no idea about music! she speaks for the average people's point of view. the ones buying the albums and c.d's! I love ellen, and cant wait to see her on Idol!
They needed someone like Ellen on the show becuase the relationship between Paula and Simon was the comic relief on the show, and when Paula left, they needed some humor.
