Couldn't beleive it! My wife and I have the first generation models and planned to finally upgrade.

I have never bought an Apple product before...However, after using my girlfriends Ipod Touch, I became interested and was actually looking forward to this announcement and buying a Ipod Touch 3g...I'm more than a little disappointed...
I think its obvious from the build up that the unit was meant to have a camera for whatever reason it's missing...but that would be fine if we had a few extras here and there...but instead we barely heard anything about it except that is supposed to be a game machine (which it never will be)...couldn't they throw people a bone or 2....FM tuner, built-in mic or maybe even just a anti-fingerprint screen...I don't even know if this is officially thought of by Apple as the 3rd generation Ipod Touch...just a lackluster showing for what I thought was their premiere Ipod product...yet we saw the "Nano" get the feature missing off the "Touch" model...
the worst part is we are all left waiting worried if we buy this, some short time later the rumored camera will be released and we will be left with an inferior product...i think i will just pass altogether...

Um... Yeah! I would have been in line to upgrade from my 8GB if the iPhone camera was in the new Touch. But to pay out that much for what? A memory upgrade? Little tweaks and fixes?
Unless they do an exchange for say... $29 i'll just hold on until Touch 4G.

I was looking forward to upgrading from an 8GB iPod Touch to at least a 16GB new Touch with a camera. I was pretty surprised when the only camera added was *video* to the *Nano*. Now I'm standing pat: I'll stick with my 8GB Touch.

I don't get it. Why put it on the cheaper, littler device where there's barely room and not on the larger, more expensive device with the bigger screen that's better for photos? I was waiting for this to buy a Touch. Now, i'm on hold.
