In high school football, players can not return a kick when caught in the end zone. What do you think of this rule?

It is a matter of safety. Great rule.

There are other plays in football that are a lot more dangerous and are legal. Change the rule.

At the Declo-Kimberly game, on the Kimberly kick (I think it was Larsen Webb returning), the returner's foot was in the end-zone, and they had to call it as a touchback. There was no problems with the play, it was in no way dangerous, and we could have gotten a good 30 to 40 yard return, if it were not for this rule.

Change it!

What's the difference from returning a kick caught on the +1 yard line opposed to 1 yard in the zone? If you think about it returning a kick at the 1 yard line is probably more dangerous because you want to run if you catch it at the one and not be buried that deep.

Its not a matter of safety or dangerous. It's just a kicking rule. There are many discrepencies between high school and college/pro and most of them are not safety, just rule differences. Most of the 'safety' or 'dangerous' rules closely mirror each other in all levels. Its just a matter of any kick entering a endzone becomes dead and is a touchback.... missed FG's entering the end zone as well.
