Greer's remark, coming from a state Republican chairman, was ridiculous. I'm a Democrat, but believe in a strong 2 party system. At the rate that the Republican party is racing to the extreme right -- and associating its name with Glenn Beck and similar characters -- it is at risk of being completely marginalized. This is a dangerous time - not because of who the President is, but because of far right hate speech, racist rants, ignorant people in the birther movement who think that Hawaii isn't a state. Meanwhile, we have Republican Texas Governor Rick Perry talking about Texas seceding from the US. Sarah Palin and her husband flirted with secessionists in Alaska (Alaska Independence Party). Yet we hear that the President is trying to destroy the US. Really?
