Can UVa turn around its football season?

Yes. Still plenty of opportunity.

No. End of the line for coach Al Groh.

Unsure.

Al Groh is an intelligent, decent and well-spoken man. He knows football but his expertise lies mainly in the defensive aspects of the game. He is a good defensive coach but, as head coach, he must, and does, get involved with offensive schemes and maybe he shouldn't. I know his inner ego wouldn't allow it but I'd like to see him remain as defensive coordinator and let the university appoint (or hire) a new head coach. That way, his contribution to the team would be better utilized. I don't know of anyone who doubts or questions his abilities as a defensive coach.
