thanx for posting this poll. i sometimes wonder what i could do with the $35 i pay for premium membership. i could buy more pzcut. i used to think it was to support the site, which was IMHO was an easy site to navigate. but now i wonder what i'm paying for. i thought that i was a premium member and would be asked about changes to the site. i totally understand tha tits Ryan site and he owns it...but i thought the whole PM thing was for us to put our 2 cents in.

Since supporting the site was probably the main reason most people decided to become premimun members, I think that should have been an poll choice. I feel that even though I have many issues with the site and it's ower, I use it a lot so I will support it. So far.

I have a love-hate relationship with the site. While I find many of it's features very useful, I find many of then redundant and not at all necessary. I think things like rating boxes and statistics have no place in boxing. I believe Ryan has succeeded in changing the basic way the hobby is "played", and it's not for the better.

I think he has no interest in our input unless it agrees with what he wants to do. He seems to listen to some of the very silly requests of newer members and ignores the intelligent and well thought out suggestions of people who have been boxing for years.

Basically what it boils down to for me is that AQ has become pretty much the only game in town if you want to box as part of a community and not be a totally "off the grid" boxer, as a very small number of people are.

Miss Moon: Since supporting the site was probably the main reason most people decided to become premium members, I think that should have been an poll choice.

Lone R: I figured that supporting the site was a given -- that 99% of people would choose supporting the site. It would make for a boring poll. So removing the obvious #1 choice, I wanted to know if there was another reason (a #2 choice) that people had for buying a premium membership.

I love AQ! I admit it. When I first started boxing, LBNA was the only game in town but it seemed unsatisfying. I felt very alone over there. I, then, used both for a while but AQ just won out. It became active and there was communication between boxers. Things changed daily.

The site is what you want it to be. If you don't want to get involved in the message boards, ignore them. If you don't want to pay attention to a certain thread on the boards you do follow, you can ignore it. If you don't want to participate in a rating system, you don't have to. If you are a traditional boxer and don't care about postals, LTCs, Boxing Buddies, and other stuff, shut it out. But you can always pipe up and share your opinion. I don't use half of the features on AQ just because they are not important to how I play this game. But I do check in almost daily because I love to see what's new and what's happening.

I'm a premium member because I use the site A LOT and feel I should pay in (now that I am in a financial state that I can afford to).

I think the basis for all the AQ features is to appeal to a wide audience. We all don't have to like every little thing but we have the OPTIONS. That's what appeals to me about the on-line part of boxing. Because when it boils right down to it...it's about getting outside and walking around and finding a little treasure.

I'm new to the site, so the honeymoon is still on. There's so much that I don't know, but to support a site that allows me to participate in postal rings and LTC is enogh for right now. I'm more likely to think that the long-time members changes are more valid because they should know the game more. I'm still think that it's a good site.
