Yes, he should have resigned. Everything about him is scary. Giving him any type of leadership in this country could only be detrimental. I believe he resigned, not because of a smear campaign against him, but because he knew all the facts about him had come to light. Will this Administration ever learn? I'm not sure its arrogance will allow that. I have never seen our country so divided (racially and otherwise); this Administration has set race relations back 100 years! Personally, I would love to see a J. C. Watts or Michael Steele in the White House. I would rejoice at that. No one should ever be put down because of race or color, but this Administration is bringing the race card into every aspect of the political spectrum. Appointing this man was just another one of those steps. I pray everyday that the Lord will deliver us from what is happening to our country.
The real story is:
1. How did Obama get away with getting him through vetting? They knew exactly his radical background and actually agree with Van Jones.
2. Congressional Hearings NOW for all Czars - Investigate all since the White House can not be responsible - want to know all - their span of control, org structure, budget, governance, etc.
3. Lastly, the real issue is why he was not fired by Obama 2 days ago. Lack of Management honesty and leadership. Obama really wanted to see if he could weather the storm rather than him going which shows Obama's true center. He absolutely supports Jones radical thinking and way of thinking.

Why do we need all of these czars in the first place? While Americans are being laid off, furloughed, denied cost of living raises and ultimately facing higher taxes in all that we do, why are we padding this administration with unvetted, superfluous people who are probably being paid over $100,000 each, not to mention their benefits and perks. Every single one of the people in these positions should be looked at under a microscope. Otherwise, we are nothing but lemmings being led off a cliff while the foundations of this country crumble beneath us.

Obama should be held accountable and open up all of his Czars for proper vetting and if any checkered past is exposed be terminated. I agree with "The Texan", he should have never been appointed in the first place. This would not have happened in earlier times. No other President would have been arrogant enough to appoint a self-described Communist to any position within our government. Obama and his advisors had to have known who this guy was and what his philosophy was. I'm 60 years old and I've seen a lot of Presidents and the way they operate. The Obama Administration is setting it's own set of rules and they ain't the ones spelled out in the Constitution. And, here we thought Obama was a Harvard educated constitutional attorney. Evidently, he was only interested in learning what was necessary to know in order to know how to bend the rules of the constitution and get around them. I feel that Van Jones should be barred from involvement in ANY government decision making at any level and should in no way be allowed to act as an advisor in any capacity. The "CZARS" currently appointed should be removed from their positions as it seems they are all as radical as Mr. Jones. Glenn Beck is not in public office but neither was the czar at the time he made the statement. He still needs to resign for his comment that President Obama hates white people. His family is white and he is half white so he's saying he hates himself, his grandparents who raised him and fought for our country. When someone else said that Pres. I research everything I never take anyone's word for anything; but President has some far done anything he said he was going to do. I don't necessarily agree with everything but I don't agree with anyone about everything. He said he thought that President Bush's rescue of the banks did not go far enough and he would have done more he did. I don't agree but he did. The President also said before being President that the Auto Co. should be balled-out and he did. Once again I don't agree but that's what he said he was going to do and did it. He also said he thought we needed a stimulus bill and he did I don't agree with not having more for roads and highways and that it should have addressed jobs now but he did what he said he was going to do. Yes I have read most of the bills. Once again bills are written in Congress and laws are made in Congress.

Now is the time to object to the czar over the Federal Communications Commission before we loose freedom of speach in television, radio, and the internet. He wants to bring back the fairness act which would mandate opposing opinion or be fined. This is totally contray to the First Amendment.
The MAIN issue that we should learn from this is that BO did not make a statement concerning WHY Van Jones was in the position in the first place, and he did not fire him, he let him resign. All in the BO administration knew Van Jone's philosophy, THEREFORE they were in agreement.

The concern for me is how a president can appoint anyone he wants to any position of athority he dreams up having any amount of power the president assigns. Where is the checks and balances? The people need to know who is running this country. We don't have a clue and I personally don't have any trust because all the retoric of change has been so very misleading. The president has not earned our trust, Therefor, I can't trust anyone he appoints. This whole way of running the government seems contradictory to our core beliefs as laid down by our constitution.

I laughed when I read his resignation letter. Smear campaign?! All I saw were film clips of his own speeches and excerpts from his own book. As others have written, Jones is just one of the problems.
