They have given many amendments etc. and they have been shut out by the democrats. Actually, most of their ideas were the same ideas GWB put on the table a few years ago. No one at the time would speak of any of these ideas. They were good ideas and from what I am hearing, the ones that most Americans want today. TORT REFORM, Insuance pools, crossing State lines, and tax credits. About time we start there rather than go through an entire new entitlement program. Problem is, Socical Security, medicare, and medicaid are broke and the government needs to get their hands on more money.

We definitely need some type of health care reform, but I am adamantly opposed to a Government controlled hc plan!! More like a "Population control plan" and it isn't wise or healthy!! President Bush's included Tort reform (which Dems won't do, allowing small business to join to purchase insurance at cheaper rate, health care savings accounts and tax credits. He absolutely refused to except the Democrats push for a government controlled health plan.

When Obama addresses Congress I want the members who do not agree with this Healthcare Bill to sit on their hands (no applause). It doesn't matter if they disapprove of single issues or many issues or the entire Bill, just sit on their hands. That would be the most telling way to see the actual backers. Since Nancy has said she believes the president may need to compromise, the only way to tell if she really means this is to remain silent and watch and listen who agrees with him. This Congress has to make another kind of statement, one that would go down in history as something that has never been done before. The silent treatment would be the best way to say NO to the President.

Health care is a giant issue-but only a part of what is happening to this great country. Our health care is fine-just need some tweeking without government take over. This president speaks, but says nothing. Listens, but hears nothing. I am 73 yrs & have always been so proud to be 2nd generation American-this is the first I can remember of being afraid that this president & those that surround him have a hidden agenda.
