The CME companies would prefer that no one from the company attend the CME event. The assumption is that everyone is sales. When you do arrive at a meeting, you are warned to speak to NO physician/speakers. This is awkward when the speaker and attendees know you and want to chat. CME providers will also make you sit away from the other physicians. Also very awkward. I have found that the value of the CME events has become questionable as the companies are prevented from having any resposibility for the program.
