In my mirror...I repent and regret that I have failed to be more active and involved in our government. Now I realize that if I ignore the corruption and lack of integrity it will not go away and I join the awakened sleeping giants. At what point did we sign away our country to liars, cheats, and thugs?
At what point did we allow the God Bless America to be replaced with 'bless me and all I can grab and steal' from the American public?
I am glad to say that I recognized nObama as a slick one immediately and did not vote for him. Now that he is in the power grabbing position, creating a cult of government thugs around him, overstepping his authority, and ignoring the will of the people and some of the Congress who may try to do the right thing what do we do? More, more and more...we must call, write, march, protest (peacefully), call for impeachment proceedings, call for the Czars to step down, get rid of Pelosi and Reid, demand that the $30,000 million for the rat in Pelosi's district be returned. In short, pitch a fit America...about the whole package...stop letting them distract us crisis by crisis.
Seek, search for and support the truth. Boycott media malpractice on the networks and take away the power of the media to tell us what we think and how we feel.
The White House is playing a shell game with us. Watch and follow daily and you will find the pattern - they create a health scare and while we are up in arms about it, they create a Clunkers program equivalent to giving heroin to an addict, then they hire another Czar with a worse record, and while we are screaming about that one they bail out a corrupt bank, and we cannot get one item addressed before they create another 'opportunity crisis' and we are off the first one and they GET AWAY WITH IT, over and over.
If we want our freedom, our rights, our privacy we have to stop this administration, they have already gone too far and proven that they care not about the American people. It did not start here, it was already started, but this band of thugs has taken corruption to a whole new level.
1. Call, write, email, march, and then call again.
2. Do not accept the standard canned letters and do not just vent - be sure to ask for action.
3.Do not let the staffers listen politely and offer to forward your comments - ask for an expect a response and action.

It just continues, he can hire all the czars he wants to handle the positions he does not want his Secretaries to handle. Who knows what is going on in the Whitehouse. Transparency is not happening, change is happening and the change is from a freedom our fathers fought for to freedom for a select few. Health care reform, stimulus money, cap and trade, the car companies, the banks - the internet, what else is he going to take away from us before we wake up. We should be using the earned income credits for healthcare of individuals. Put the money to good use instead of the tax credit coming to the individual in a tax return and them buying a Plasma TV instead of Health Care. Work for what you have, do charity for who you want, but dont make the taxpayer pay for those that don't work, don't want to work and are just looking for what you can do for them. The Middle Class is a broad spectrum and it will get smaller as the taxes go up to pay for all of the Change. We do need change, but not change that is rushed without our paid officials reading the bills and knowing what is in them. How can they sell the package when you can go out on the web read the bill and contradict what they are saying. Pelosi and Reid need to go -talk about astroturf. God Bless America.

The Internet was designed to resist control and shut-down. Heck, it was designed to stay up in a nuclear war. Sure, the DoD is no longer in charge, but the resulting growth with competing backbone providers, etc., has created a network that is fairly resilient. It is silly to give that up and allow a "kill switch" to be coded into routers, etc.

50/50 shot here. On the basics of cyberterrorism, in order to PROTECT our technological infrastructure, it would be feasible to TEMPORARILY shut down the Internet in order to limit attacks. In a crisis, we have to protect communications and banking/financial as a primary, with medical and electrical as a very close second.
Now, going on that, I say shutting down the Internet is a possibility, HOWEVER, I do not feel that it is safe to allow the President to have that power. I don't trust President Obama...I think his policies and ideas are hovering in the stratosphere somewhere and until such a time as his "plans" start to show some improvement in things or his ideas begin to make sense, I would say forget allowing him the power to shut down the net; it's just too risky.
When I saw this article, all I could think of was China and how that country so severely limits their peoples' access to the Internet and what they are "allowed" to view.

I have a couple questions to throw out anyway: Just what makes any of you think that there will even BE another Presidential election? If one ego-maniac in the Oval Office can declare a national emergency and shut down the Internet, what's to stop him from just declaring that a time of uncertainty and transition (an election) would be too risky in the face of the (conjured) threat? Or, he could just declare himself the winner, and what could we do about it? Without talk radio and the Internet, with cell phones monitored or shut down, how would anyone organize a movement to challenge the count? And if you could, what's to keep his ACORN cronies from changing the ballots during the 'recount?' With his appointees running the judicial system, what appeal would be heard? If the American people were to rise up and demand all Congressmen and Senators go home, he has a Politburo full of 'Czars' to immediately step up to fill the 'experience gap' with their radical edicts, doesn't he?

If believing in physical responsibility and believing in a minimal government intervention with any aspect of my life makes me conservative, then I will be proud to call myself a conservative. I am beginning to think Our president will go down in history as the worse president ever. And it is with great regret that he is black. It's our country and our freedom at stake. No to taking over the internet and NO to all the democrats in the next election. I believed in them so much, but my child's freedom and life is more important than my belief in a political party. It is a precursor to taking away the ability to organize a response to what the general population may see as a threat to their basic rights and freedoms.
This government has stopped representing the will of the common citizen a long. long time ago and it didn't start with Obama. We need to stop re-electing the same people over and over again. The framers of the Constitution had the right idea. Let someone serve the country one term in any political arena and then go back to what they did in civilian life. By doing that no one person or political party will be in the pockets of any special interest group. I suggest that in any election no matter if it's just a local city council, school board or larger political postion (congress, senate or president) that we vote against the incumbent each and every time. For God's sake people! Stop putting lawyers in office and elect people with common sense and good solid judgement. Give me some one who speaks in words that all can understand and not someone whose language leaves you wondering what they said or mean!

Absolutely a power grab. Can you imagine a better method to of shutting down dissenters than to disable talk radio and shut down the Internet? People, get wise. This man is dangerous and is backed by a very dangerous group of people who want to control your every move and thought. The constitution gives us life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. our ability to freely communicate with each other falls within these rights. I have lost trust in our government to allow us to enjoy these freedoms. They make no bone about their plans to "control" our freedoms. this is just one more step in that direction.

Looking at the past 8 months from an objective viewpoint leaves one breathless with horror at the scope and speed of his actions against our basic freedoms. In my mirror...I repent and regret that I have failed to be more active and involved in our government. Now I realize that if I ignore the corruption and lack of integrity it will not go away and I join the awakened sleeping giants. The Middle Class is a broad spectrum and it will get smaller as the taxes go up to pay for all of the Change. We do need change, but not change that is rushed without our paid officials reading the bills and knowing what is in them. How can they sell the package when you can go out on the web read the bill and contradict what they are saying. Pelosi and Reid need to go -talk about astroturf. God Bless America.

The Internet was designed to resist control and shut-down. Heck, it was designed to stay up in a nuclear war. Sure, the DoD is no longer in charge, but the resulting growth with competing backbone providers, etc., has created a network that is fairly resilient. It is silly to give that up and allow a "kill switch" to be coded into routers, etc.

50/50 shot here. On the basics of cyberterrorism, in order to PROTECT our technological infrastructure, it would be feasible to TEMPORARILY shut down the Internet in order to limit attacks. In a crisis, we have to protect communications and banking/financial as a primary, with medical and electrical as a very close second.
Now, going on that, I say shutting down the Internet is a possibility, HOWEVER, I do not feel that it is safe to allow the President to have that power. I don't trust President Obama...I think his policies and ideas are hovering in the stratosphere somewhere and until such a time as his "plans" start to show some improvement in things or his ideas begin to make sense, I would say forget allowing him the power to shut down the net; it's just too risky.
When I saw this article, all I could think of was China and how that country so severely limits their peoples' access to the Internet and what they are "allowed" to view.

Or, he could just declare himself the winner, and what could we do about it? And if you could, what's to keep his ACORN cronies from changing the ballots during the 'recount?' With his appointees running the judicial system, what appeal would be heard? At this point I don't trust President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, Harry Reid, or most members of the Congress. In short, I do not trust the present government leaders and their motivation for acting on just about anything.

If believing in physical responsibility and believing in a minimal government intervention with any aspect of my life makes me conservative, then I will be proud to call myself a conservative. Absolutely a power grab. Can you imagine a better method to of shutting down dissenters than to disable talk radio and shut down the Internet? People, get wise. Give the government the power over the banking industry, health care, the auto industry...what's next? Pretty soon everybody will be a government worker and we can call eachother Comrade.
The constitution gives us life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. our ability to freely communicate with each other falls within these rights. I have lost trust in our government to allow us to enjoy these freedoms. They make no bone about their plans to "control" our freedoms. this is just one more step in that direction.
