What do you think about misprinted lottery tickets?

The lottery should pay up.

It's an honest mistake.

They should absolutely have to pay. I would be sick if that happened to me. After this report I'm not sure if I should buy anymore scratch off cards. I buy cards for 5 and 10 dollars to get to those millions. No one wants to hear something about a misprint they should have to honor it. Where on the ticket did it say?, (if this is a misprint you won't get paid) NOWHERE! I love PIX 11. Hi Suki.

If it was their mistake they still need to pay its only fair how are we the purchasers supposed to know that it was a "typo" or "misprint" if all we know is that we won. Come on now it is not right to build up a person self esteem to the chop them down.

they would make the private sector pay up and possibly put them out of business. where is there responsibility? don't have to have any?

I believe that the lotto should pay these people for THEIR MISTAKE. It almost makes me wonder if I could have won on some tickets but lost due to a printing error. I played once and it said I lost but once the ticket was scanned it said I won 25 dollars! It is a shame that they would try and stiff people becasue they messed up. They might as well pay these people before more people start coming forward claiming to have won.

i believe they still need to pay up. give something. it may have been a misprint but its not the purchaser's fault. atleast they should explain and give their apologies and still pay up something. the purchaser did their part, they baught the ticket, scratched and won. now its the lottery to comply to their part.

What a bunch of hogwash.....They MUST pay. If they don't the public should boycott the lottery for a week and they would lose a lot more than if they had paid the two latest scamed players!!!!! Wonder how many more it happens to and we just don't know about it.

The lottery CANNOT pay a jackpot that is a typo. It's not a matter of should or shouldn't...it's a matter of can't. Unless you want to take the money out of where Lottery proceeds go, the importance of which is the entire reason that this form of gambling is legal. If they pay up large sums on a misprint, they won't be able to pay on winning tickets that aren't misprints, not without reducing the number of winning tickets intentionally printed. Not to mention: I'm sure the lottery itself doesn't print these things - they are done by a vendor...I'd say the purchaser has a case for a complaint to the vendor.

Also, if the ticket hadn't been misprinted, the buyer still wouldn't have won.

The lottery or printer SHOULD pay SOMETHING for the mental anguish.

The converse possibility that you might have won without knowing it is an interesting point. This is why you should visually check your tickets AND scan them.
