Whether health care reform passes or not taxes will go up for every american, some in direct taxes and others in increased costs of services. You are probably looking at increased taxes to the tune of at least one third more than they are at the present time.

I thouroughly believe that the illegal president Terrorist Obama will raise taxes and do everthing to try and bring down the USA. I am in total favor for the tea parties. Say no to health care and Obammies gangsters and Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi should be sent on a real nice cruise together. They deserve it. Ofcourse I would hope and pray the cruise ship would sink. My taxes have already been raised by $1,512 by the state of New York in the form of property tax increase and the lack of "rebate" of the star program.
The star rebate thing was very clever of the politicians. Rather than reducing the tax rate years ago they gave a "rebate" so everyone could feel good about their gov't. Of course, they were able to shut the "rebate" down on a seconds notice.
The fact is that I am so heavily taxed by the state of NY that I pay very little to the Feds. My local and state tax exemptions pretty much innoculate me to a Fed tax increase.

I am 21 years old- a college senior- and I have always been taught that the only way I am going to get where I want to go in life is by putting in the maximum effort into everything I do. Having just been accepted to a Masters in Accounting program, I am beginning to question why I am working so hard. I wonder if hard work will really pay off for my generation, and in particular those of us entering the business world. If Obama and the far left demonize hardworking young people in industries such as business (or health care, and other higher paying industries) while at the same time excessively PROVIDING for high school drop-outs, college drop-outs, and others who end up in union-type jobs... WHERE IS OUR INCENTIVE?? I know this question seems extreme, but it's not the first time I've caught myself wondering where the respect for hardworking HIGH-ACHIEVING Americans has gone.

The solution to all of this seems so simple: Give us our taxes back, let US use that money to buy our health care, to trade in our clunker, etc etc. Instead of the FEDERAL government deciding what is best for our personal lives, how about never taking the money from us in the first place? If we aren't responsible enough to use that money toward our needs (like healthcare), then that's our own fault. At minimum, at least let the STATES decide what its residents want and need. That way, Americans who want extreme regulation and goverment oversight can move to states that provide it, while others can move to states like Texas which believes in a free market and low taxes. To dorian mcbride: No offense and with the utmost respect, you are paying a use tax for continuing to smoke. This is a tax you pay by choice. You choose to smoke. I do not. But I choose to drive ...and I pay gas taxes. Each are our respecticve choices, ...and vices. So call it a tax on socially acceptable vices.

Income taxes are not paid by choice. They are mandated to be assessed and paid on our wages. Income taxes will double in the next ten years to fund the Obama deficits. Smoking by choice will not stop this inevitability. Neither will taxes paid on gas. This administration is Out Of Control! To Know Obama is to Say No to Obama! We must take our country back.

This is a no brainer. Why do you think that there are Tea Parties and people who generally roll with the flow, coming out at the Town Halls. They can see it coming and when it does it won't be pretty. It will just kill us. On the news tonight it was announced that the 2.7 or 2.9% c.o.l. increase for Government employees , he reduced to 2% above what they now earn. That is quite a bit more than Social Security recipents would have gotten, BUT Obama withheld the cost of living increase for the retirees. Is he discriminating against the elderly? Retirees have expenses to live as same as the government workers. Before the election he said he was for change, but did not divulge what he had in mind.

I think that there will be a tax increase on EVERYTHING, before it's over! Congress and the Pres. have deceived the people and are still trying to do it! Ours was a 24/7 job, which means we worked nights, weekends and holidays. Yes, even Christmas. Union workers are not PROVIDED for as you seem to imply. I earned every dime and every benefit I received. You can slam union workers all you want, but you would not find dedicated workers for my profession without union representation. I have been a tax paying overseascitizen (now senior retiree) and pay in my home country of Israel as well. I get the privilege of passport and nothing more. I, and the thousands I represent as Chairman of American and Canadian Association Seniors, need my social security and with the weakening dollar do not know how we will make ends meet if taxes rise. There are thousands of us all over the world but only in Israel and the Phillipines do we pay taxes to two countries. Please note we DO NOT HAVE ANY REPRESENTATION IN CONGRESS OR THE SENATE. With unemployment up so high the tax revanue will be lower then it has been in years. To the point where they are not going to be able to pay for the gov. programs establishted before Obama took office. Even if the health care bill fails and they paid back all the stimlus money they are still going to have to raise taxes in order to pay for everything. I mean while all of us sat down with our families and discussed what we were going to have to do with out. Our Gov. gave themselves a pay raise. Now the funny part of that was their reasioning for it. I may be wrong but I do believe their reason was due to the rise in the cost of living their in Washington D.C. Now with the housing market in a downward spirial how in the world is Washington D.C. housing market going up. Please explain to me. Sorry for ranting but yes all of our taxes are going to go up, and it is going to happen soon.

I think Natalie has a valid argument............the way Obama is trying to steer this country, what is the purpose of trying to educate yourself so that you can make a lot of money? Obama is slowly trying to limit salaries of high level employees, and that just does not come anywhere near passing the smell test....that is just toooooo much government intervention. And yes the government does reward those who do not try to get an education and support themselves. It's all a part of the big plan, make the citizens dependent on you, but, somewhere down the line the country will run out of other people's money. You don't have to be too smart the figure this out.
