I think they are making an impact. Just look at the "complete" coverage of Kennedy! Such a hypocrite! I am NOT watching it! The tea party have it. It is people like him that has help put this stuff into action.

Most of the American people are realizing that this President and many deomocrats are completey and purpsoely destroying this country. I have been following Glenn Beck and his shows only to investigate on my own that he is so correct. I have learned that the confidence is high in what Glenn has been saying. I think the 'Tea Parties' and the attendance at the 'Town Hall' meetings are genuine. And it's NOT just health reform. I'm in Las Vegas and the 4th of July Tea Party media coverage was very limited. No one from the media showed up while I was there, so they arrived after many people left, making it seem like a smaller protest.

I believe they are having an impact. I also believe that in a similar way the town hall meetings are having an impact. I have attended 2 town halls personally. I have at one held by John Dingell, a co-author of HR3200 seen people being allowed into the hall early through a fire exit. When I was finally in the hall, the entire front of the room was filled with supporters of the bill with signs. However, we say no one with signs entering. The other meeting I attended was held by a state of Michigan representative, due to the fact that at that time, Congressman Gary Peters had not scheduled one (he now finally has). In that meeting, attended by approximately 600 people, Rep. Tom McMillin asked those in support of HR3200 to stand, about 20 people did so. He then asked those in opposition to stand, and over 550 people did so. The visualy impact of that was stunning. I would love Fox News to get this video from State of Michigan rep. Tom McMillin's office and air it. It really drove the message home.

I am so releived that Americans are standing up and speaking out about their concerns. This country is formed on a Constitution of Government, by the people for the people- Our Liberty is struggling against politicians who seem to forget they work for us.

Some of us constition backing, gone carriers that believe in God's word being the basis of the Decloration of Independance and the Constitution of the United States of America say not just yes but Heaven Yes, the Tea Parties are making a difference. If for no other reason, those of us that do not want the USA to become government controled are out there talking with each other and creating a massive network for upcoming success in local, state and national elections.

I do think the tea parties make a huge difference.I felt so empowered after I attended my first one at the RI State house. Our Governor stood with us also and encouraged us to use our freedom to let our voices be heard. I think gathering together in public places is so much more effective than phone calls that never get answered. We can not be hidden and dismissed when we go public.

You bet the tea parties have made a difference. So much so that my husband and I are traveling from NC to participate in the Tea Party March on D.C. on Sept. 12. There is no way we would have done this before the election of B.O. and the Dems to total power. Seeing people just like us protesting and excercising their right of free speech has inspired up to become active and voice our discontent with this government.

I think we are making our representatives aware of how many people are against the wild spending and government being involved in places they have no business being. However, these are the same people who get money from Washington and I'm sceptical of how much of a difference we can truely make. It seems they've decided THEY know what's best for us. I don't believe the current politicians know how fed up we are with the nonsense. They've awakened the people of this country who normally mind their own business, work hard, and don't make waves. They don't seem to understand that for the ones who show up to tea parties, there are so many of like mind who don't go.

Tea Parties have helped to make the people feel empowered to make changes in our government. Tea Parties have made the comman people realize they still have power to create change. The Obama White House does not know how to react. They can only call the people participating in the Tea Parties a wide variety of names.

I have written to Boxer, Feinstein, Cardoza, and Pelosi in regards to how American feels about their voting for the health care issues, the way Obama is spending money, etc. They have all replied back that they are supporting the president. Oh please they did not listen to any thing I said. I will personnally vote against each one when it comes time for re-election. Boxer took over 6 weeks to reply to my negative vote against the democratic vote. They really care! We need a whole new crew in the Senate and the house. The majority are idiots!

I do not understand why nobody has been able to question the President regarding the "Czars" and their backgrounds. Also, Obama's involvement with Acorn, SCIU and Americorp should be brought to attention. I always considered myself a Democrat, however, the unexplained, unusual acts of congress, including President Obama, has divided the country to a place that I never thought I would live to see!

I just returned from the Sacramento Ca. Tea Party. It was a large group. A well behaved group. The group was all ages including families with kids and grand kids. The gathering contained no punks that I saw. The speeches were good and patriotic and passionate. We had one person that I saw that tried to disrupt the event. He was a black guy and he was obnoxious. He did not fit in with this group at all. The police escorted him out. Hopefully they jailed him. We were all passionate but not unruly. He was a jerk and not respectful.

We are sick and tired of the direction of government trying to impose its will on us. We are not paid. I took time off from work to attend this event. The signs at the event were hand painted. They were not the slick printed signs of BHO organizers, the unions or other organized groups.

Speaking for myself and probably many in the crowd, we are sick and angry as hell at the politicians that are trying to take our Country down the path of socialism, Marxism. We are sick of being taxed and regulated to death. This country is not a nanny country. Get off our backs!

The media and govenment might try to ignore us all they want but, reality is these tea partys, rallys, and marchs are making us stronger and more determined than ever. The Tea Parties are a clarion call to all who see what is going on and want to stop it. To dismantle citizens Health Care and insurance is equal to taking apart an entire car engine, when all that is needed is to pull and replace the spark plugs! We need to pray that our President does not enact NSPD-51. This is a move we will find hard to defend ourselves from. There is too little space and too many things to speak of here, that is why Tea Parties/Town Hall Meetings are our most effective mode of expression and dissent.

I think the president is 'practicing medicine' without a license since he is making decisions about health care that all citizens - young and old should have. Most people unless they have been too lazy to work and have lived off the government (taxpayers) all their life could afford some type of health care.
Those of us who have worked hard and saved rather than take money from the government should not have to pay for others who do not have it - unless they are elderly or diabled. I have seen many young people who sit around waiting for their 'government check'. It is alarming that the United States no longer abides by our Constitution and has thrown God out of everything that is done.

I do think and hope the tea parties are helping to awaken people of the things that are being done in Washington with our current administration. For all the things the president has lied about and the people he has associated with he should be impeached. I do hope that people will wakeup and lets take back our country!

Yes, the parties are having a very positive impact. Kudos to these true patriots. These Tea Parties are after all, as American as our Constitution itself. I believe Tom Jefferson would tip his hat to Fox news for it's solo act of fair and balanced reporting too.

Why is there no discussion of the people who make up the so called "40 million without health insurance". According to an article written by Willam Snyder in the Wall Street Journal (11-21-08), "What do we really know about the uninsured"). The CHCF study found "that of the 1.3 million uninsured who received care, 80% paid for it" . Also only 15% went to an emergency room instead of a doctor.

I Tea Party efforts are sending a grass roots message to our elected officials that we are not longer sleeping. Eye wide open and believing they are out of control and should be out of office next election unless the state allows recalling them for not representing their constituents. Although I have never been actively involved with the election process in the past I will be very active in the upcoming elections. I will expect a platform of getting government out of the public section except for the necessary regulations to enforce far trade and business.

We need a country where you can reach for the stars no matter your race, religion, sex, age, or political ideology. We need our air waves should practice the objective facts when you are listening to the news and not the news trying to influence our opinions.

I would hope these Tea Parties would be just the beginning of a return to the values of being an American. There are a number of issues that should be resolved by our elected officials. It would be nice if they fixed what is wrong now before taking on more of our individual rights and responsibilities.
Each Tea Party must be attended by as many of us as possible and if we cannot attend we should send our proxy of support.

I just watched the launch of the space shuttle. I've watched most of them. What a great country we have and what a great bunch of people that make up this country. These people on the shuttle are hero's as well as all the team that launched them.

Attending tea parties and town halls and confronting the people who are trying to run all over us and destroy America is probably the most patriotic thing any of us will ever have a chance to do for our country. Many of us may be on Obama's Homeland Security Watch List because we are outspoken. Let not your heart be troubled, fear not, speak boldly. They think Jefferson's statement "the tree of liberty, from time to time, must be watered with the blood of patriots" means we support violent overthrow of the government. They are fools. It means true patriots are willing to sacrafice everything for freedom. Our patriots are buried in every country in the world we ever fought to free including our own. We will not sit down and shut up.

As for Ted Kennedy? I too am sick of the hoop la la over this man.. too vivid is the death of a young lady but because he is a Kennedy we sweep it all under the bridge.

The Tea Party movement is one way the American people have to demostrate their Constitutional rights. It helps to instruct our elected officials that they work for the people. I took an oath upon enlistment to protect and defend the Constitution of the US. How many of our elected officials raised their hand and just said the required word without consideration of the meaning? Military men and women have died to defend our Constitutional right to include free speach since 1776. Tea Parties just help to bring home the fact that we have Constitutional Rights and we will always protect and defend these rights till the end.

I had the pleasure of attending a Tea Party in Lansing! I was one of over 5,000 the made the trip to the capital in Michigan. I met with a gentleman who has been working there at the capital for over 25 years as a paid lobbyist. I asked if he had ever seen anything like this he said never in all his years. He said it was a good thing....THE REAL kicker ...as I watched our nightly local news NOT ONE MADE mention of the 5000 people, NOT ONE. They showed twelve people standing near a river in another community saying this was the turn out?? This is how we are treated by the paid for press!

Even though I was not heard by the many people I talked to leading up to the election of Barach Hussein Obama and a multitude of his accomplices, regarding his often expressed ideas he is now implementing; many of these same people are now asking for advice on what to do now. I point them to the Tea Parties, give them books to read, pull info from the internet, tell them to watch Fox News and listen to conservative radio. Many are becoming desperate about all they are hearing and fearing what the future holds as they see their financial condition regress their chances of retirement slip away. Did the Tea Parties help, in a big way; did the Town hall meetings help, in a big way; YES, YES, YES!!!!

Went to our first TeaParty this month. Took my 82 yr old mother in law with me. We will go again and again anytime they have another. First a town hall meeting was scheduled, then it was changed to a panel format with only 500 allowed to enter, then Congressman Allen Boyd cancelled saying not enough people would be there. We went and he did not. A Citizen's Summons had been formally issued by Bay Patriots requesting that he meet with voters following the panel discussion so that we could speak with him directly, ask questions, tell him our stand, etc. He did not show up for the crowd counted to exceed 1100. Pages of HR3200 were passed out one per person, and they ran out of pages at about halftime. Too bad Congressman Boyd chose not to attend - we had a huge crowd!!

Outraged here over this but as stated in my post earlier I would love to see video of this event, perhaps a person explaining what's going on on a site specifically for Tea party/ Town halls. To keep everything in some order wont be easy but i really think it would serve us well and then our reliance on the media isnt as important

I might be ranting and raving but these are just a couple comments and concerns I have, I wish people would wake up, smell the coffee brewing and open their eyes.

The Tea Party is having an effect and you can tell by how fast the President and his support staff are moving to put in place the National Police to handle the terrorists known as those Right Wing tea party members and oh yes the Military.
I stated to many that if Oboma would ever get into Office he would with the Congress and Senate as well as strategically placed cronies; they would destroy the Constitution and bring this United States down to a third world country, that he would insure future slavery through oppression, disarmament, financially ruining and demobilization of Americas, Do as I say or else attitude or else, (Spanish inquisition). Ted Kennedy should have been prosecuted for his so call accident he had with his mistress that was caring his baby. He was drunk most of his life in and out of session, and was in my opinion the worst person for the country. Term limits has to be a must, with no added benefits of life time income or health care.

There is more than just the health care, at stake. The adminstration has communist, & with anarchist history or background. one for sure is the green energy czar. Oh yes I do feel that the Tea Parties are having a large impact on stopping the idea of socialized medicine. I work in the health care system and I see that changes are in desperate need of change but not the Obama way. What needs to be addressed is the doctor's fees and the institutions that care for we the people. We the people have worked so hard all our lives for the prospect of freedom of choice and should not in any way shape or form be chastized for health care. This is not nor should it ever become a socialized country. What the government should be focusing on is closing the borders and stop turning this country into a third world country. The government has wasted billions of dollars on supporting illegals and at our expense. This is a shame. How in God's name can this be allowed? Since the election of Obama it is amazing to see how many illegals are becoming pregnant to have their anchor babies. Bearing children for legalization is an outright shame. The Democrat party took the paid in social security from the independent "Trust Fund" and put it into the General fund so that Congress could spend it. That was done under the leadership of Lyndon Johnson and the democratically controlled House and Senate.

The Democrat party eliminated the income tax deduction fro Social Securiry (FICA) withholding.

The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the "tie breaking" deciding vote as President of the Senate started taxing Social Security annuities.

Democratic president and the Democratic Party began the policy of paying immigrants social security without their paying to social securiyt.

With all of this the Democrats want to convince the people that the Republicans want to take your social security away.

Have the bailouts, etc. been of benefit to you, personally.

Re: Healthcare

My husband and I were in Canada. Before leaving my husband had a urinary infection. Before leaving tests were done and no infection was found. His doctor, from UTSouthwestern Medical, being the doctor she was sent written prescriptions, including her cell phone number with us.

A urinary tract infection did occur while in Canada. No problem, we had all we had written prescriptions. Drove miles to find a Pharmacist who could not fill the prescription since it was not written by a Canadian doctor. Sent us 40 miles up the road to a hospital emergency room.

We found the hospital emergency room. No one was in the room. After some time a couple of nurses returned. With my husband in the room I explained to the nurse that he had 103 deg fever prior to our drive there; attempted to hand her the prescriptions, etc. Her only words were, "It will be two (2) weeks".

I asked her if my husband's Dr. could be called since we had her cell phone.

Then I said to her, "If this is a question of filing for insurance, we are prepared to pay you in USA or Canada currency". As she was wheeling to turn on her heel, her statement was, "It will be two (2) weeks". She left the room.

We left Canada, returning to a hospital emergency room in the USA where we were taken care of - along with many Canadians who were within that emergency room for the care they needed.

This was a two (2) week wait for a urinary tract infection.

Yes, the tea parties are effective in allowing people with actual experiences to relate those experiences to others who would have no personal knowledge of where our leaders are attempting to take us.

Absolutely having an impact. So much so that the President saw fit to mock the Tea Party movement at a televised event earlier this year. The Tea Party bus is on its way to Washington with stops along the way. I'm certain it will draw huge crowds....wish it was coming to my town.

Being an Independent, I try to listen to candidates in order to make an intelligent choice.... It became apparent to me that Obama said, virtually, nothing in all of his speeches. He used words that, when analysed, showed his expertise in double-talk. He still uses verbage that sounds good, but means something else. I spoke up against his deviousness before he was even elected and took the chance of being called a racist. I have never been a racist and hopefully, this administration will not make me one.

I attended the first TP on Apr. 15th and found that I was not alone. It was exhilerating to finally find people of like mind. I have since written letters and sent emails to my Senators and Rep. and even Obama himself. (I feel sure that I am probably on some list somewhere.)

I am not against the Health Care plan specifically, I am against the way bills are being rushed through without oversight. I am appalled at the selection of Czars. A man without experience was elected and he seems to be easily influenced by those just waiting to take control of our country. These last 9 months have been the most frustrating, frightening and exasperating time in my life of 75 years.

Pelosi, a dangerous person, will be re-elected. I have lived in CA and I am absolutely sure that the lemmings in SF will continue to pay homage to her. However, if we can vote out all other liberal democrats, she will be rendered impotent as Leader of the House. That may be the best we can hope for.

I am so proud of Americans who have decided to speak up, take the abusive name calling, and continue to speak up. For those who think that it can't happen in America, I say, don't chance it......do whatever it takes to STOP the irresponsible spending of our tax money, the predictable control of our media including the internet, the dismantleing of our CIA, the control of our industries, banks and medical profession and the development of any kind of civilian security force. A daunting task, but I have faith in Tea Parties and Town Halls.

I keep hoping they will have an even greater impact. I wish I were more healthy because I would participate to a greater extent than just being on the internet and blogging about it.

The tea parties are having a great affect and the downside is obama and his killer henchmen will do everything they can to stop them.

Yes, the Tea Parties are having a great impact!! The libs would not be attacking them and saying they aren't successful if they weren't scared about just how effective they really are!!!
