honestly, why is everyone making such a huge fuss? i know that diving is wrong and i hate it as much as the next fan but this is eduardo's first offence so why should he be singled out? it's not as if arsenal won by only one goal or anything. he should be fined but why should he get the first ban when compared to the likes of drogba, robben, torres and 2/3 of the itallian players?
Actions have consequences. He deliberately cheated in Europes highest level competition. If Euefa fail to take action they condone the undermining of the competition. The FA's failure to take action in previous cases is disgraceful but can not be used as justification to ignore blatant cheating
he did not outrage scotland .. ireland maybe but not scotland .. if it had happened at the other end mcdonald would have done the same ... celtic fans seem to forget they had stan petrov for years who needed a snorkel for most games
Its such a shame that the english media and fans condone the actions of Gerrard and players at the clubs they perceive to be english but when the foreign, continental, push over arsenal do it they start a witchhunt and for all those. Its just sour grapes from EURO 2008.
Also i dont think celtic can claim any moral highground. They kickedArsenal off the field and when the penalty was given screamed at the ref and eduardo getting in his face.
Matthew has it spot on. I wouldn't mind if he gets a ban as long as every other diver receives a ban from now on. Celtic were outplayed over both legs and when they couldn't win the ball back, they kicked our players off the park but nothing is said about that...or the fact that Eduardo had a lazer pen shined in his eyes when he took the pen
