I was wondering when anyone would think to mention the 1918 flu epidemic. Also called the Spanish Flu. Yes it started in Spain but it came from American GI's that had been inoculated before going oversees to fight a war. At the time medicine was still in it's infancy and combining all the possibilities together of what the soldiers "might get", they invented the "shot" to cure all. In their hurry to give these soldiers their shots they rushed everything and the soldiers became the "rats/mice". They were given their "shots" before being transported on large crowded ships to Spain, where they were housed in crowded barracks and the Spanish flu spread and mutated. You won't find a lot of that in your history books...you have to research cause and effect. True, very true that we have Czars, in place to control us. I can't believe more people are afraid of the vaccine than the virus. I don't think either is a tremendous reason to lose sleep but there are occasions where a new flu causes a real pandemic - see 1918. Maybe that was a world conspiracy man-made virus too! Anyway when you get a flu shot - its broken up protein pieces from a virus - it cannot cause the flu like Checkit insists. THere are rare occasions where a vaccine causes problems and even deaths but this would have been picked up in trials. There are other rare occasions where a new virus reaks havok on otherwise healthy young adults. Pick your tonic but at this point neither choice is poison.

Baxter is the company that shipped the vaccine with live H1N1 in it that killed the ferrets it was tested on. Lots of countries are bringing suits against WHO and Baxter for shipping a bioweapon overseas. There have been injuctions filed in the state of Flordia and Washington based on the overseas suits. As a vaccine-injured person, I can say from experience that vaccines are not the harmless substances we are led to believe they are. Vaccines can cause tremendous damage and this from vaccines that are not rushed through safety testing. I, too, think it is barbaric that babies are being used as Guinea Pigs for this shot. To go after pregnant women and children is a travesty.
Medical health professionals have to believe in vaccines and cannot allow themselves to believe they could be hurting people. It is cognitive dissonance and the reason doctors will always say, "no way the shot caused those problems," even though the person was perfectly healthy before the shots and the problems occurred right after the shots. An infant could die just days after a series of shots and the medical personnel will deny any possible link to vaccination and just say it is "SIDS," or if the family is very poor they will blame the parents and call it "Shaken Baby Syndrome."

Kyle...I personally know about 7 people who currently have, or have had, swine flu in the past month. None of these people are anywhere close to dying. Granted they don't feel well for a few days, but they are on Facebook doing status updates...just waiting 'till they can return to work and school. Not nearly the horrible, scary scenario played out on the news. As many have said, unless you are immuno-supressed, you are likely in much more danger by taking a barely tested vaccine containing heavy metals and other toxins.

While I have purchased shares in several companies that do or will manufacture H1N1 vaccine, I will not take the vaccine. The stock price increases have been excellent. First, H1N1 seems to be very clearly race related. Certain races (Hispanics) are impacted greatly by swine flu while others are not. I have not seen any evidence that my demographic group has any problems. Second, people with certain pre-existing medical conditions also seem to have negative outcomes. I do not have any of those pre-existing medical conditions. Third, in the UK the Swine flu shot has links to a killer nerve disease and concerns that the shots caused over 25 deaths.

Children under 6 months of age are not able to take any flu vaccine. You owe it to your babies and patients (if you work with young children) to take the H1N1 shot as they are at the greatest risk of death. Also, pregnant women are at a very increased risk of death from the H1N1 disease - they should be the first in line!

As a registered nurse, I will definitely get the shot, though several of my coworkers have said they will not. We already had several swine flu cases in my hospital and have a severe shortage of respirator masks. Also, swine flu patients are not being properly identified and isolated because there are only so many negative air pressure rooms.
I feel that if you are a health care worker, you have an obligation to the public to get vaccinated to prevent spreading it to your patients as well as stay on your feet in a crisis situation where we may need every available nurse to combat the surge in patients.
And one final thought. I saw a patient in 24 hours go from walking around their room with seemingly mild flu symptoms progress to complete respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation. If the swine flu spreads like they say it will, there will only be so many ventilators to go around. I don't want to potentially put myself or family members in a situation where they may need a ventilator and one is not available, or need antivirals but there are none to be had.
For me the risk is great enough that I feel getting vaccinated is necessary since I will be around the swine flu regularly, but for the general public, it is less clear.

As a doctor, I will definitely get the vaccine. While the H1N1 is not as virulent as the regular flu, the regular flu still kills 30,000 people per year in the US and has the effect of taking people out of work.
There are certain populations who are recommended to get the regular flu vaccine (http://www.cdc.gov/flu/protect/keyfacts.htm), and those populations should certainly get this vaccine.

I am so glad to see people questioning the vaccine instead of blindly trusting in it. Rather than getting injected with this chemical cocktail, just getting some sun and increasing your Vitamin D can decrease your chances of being seriously affected by the swine flu.

I am weighing this. My physician said that the H1N1 itself is not the real worry, it's the potential realted to the bird flu. The Swine flu is easily spread but not very fatal, as many have written here. The Bird Flu, is the opposite, not easily spread but extremely fatal. The fear is that the two will somehow mutate (not sure of actual term) and we get the worst of both, an easily spread, very dangerous virus. If swine flu is contained now, it greatly reduces that chance.

Listen, when making a vaccine they will use the"inactivate" approach. Using this strategy, viruses are completely inactivated (or killed) with a chemical. By killing the virus, it cannot possibly reproduce itself or cause disease. The inactivated polio, hepatitis A, INFLUENZA, and rabies vaccines are made this way. Because the virus is still "seen" by the body, cells of the immune system that protect against disease are generated.
The strength of this approach is that the vaccine cannot possibly cause even a mild form of the disease that it prevents and can be given to people with weakened immune systems. The limitation of this approach is that several doses must be given to achieve immunity.

This vaccine has killed those that aren't completely healthy. It started in Poland where they tested it on homeless people, who DIED. The ingredients, such as Benzonase, is part of the bigger plan to population control, as it is a fact it sterilizes their test mice.

I will not be taking the vaccine. I don't do the flu shot & some others. My children get some of the basic vaccines. When my daughter was younger & had horrible asthma & had kidney problems, she got the shot, but it's not needed now. No way.

The last time they rushed a vaccine for the flu more people died from the vaccine than died from the flu and they recalled the vaccine. I'm not going to eat out because there are too many restaurant workers who don't wash their hands. If it gets really bad I will wear a mask to shop for groceries. I already have Tamiflu ready if needed. If I had children I would not send them to school because it's not worth the risk.

There is no way anyone in our family is taking this untested vaccine. They say it has gone through trials and is safe. I don't believe 5 week trials on only healthy people is enough to determine it's safe. What scares me is they are willing to inject it into pregnant women and young babies without knowing for a fact that it won't cause harm on down the road.
In normal vaccine trials only perfectly healthy people/children are aloud to participate. How then do they know if it is safe for those that have neuro disorders and other problems?
The rush for this vaccine is scary. Please research for yourself before you decide on this vaccine or any others!! Don't trust someone else with your health.

I am a health care worker and former FDA official. I will not take the vaccine, nor recommend it to anyone who is healthy. If you are unhealthy or immuno-compromised then taking the vaccine is worth the risk.
The adverse effects of the H1N1 pandemic in the US have been exaggerated. All seasonal viruses kill people unhealthy people. The H1N1 virus is not much different. The biggest difference is that it affects young people.
Furthermore, the vaccine has been rushed through the approval process. Safety and effectiveness data is based on a limited number of people. Its affects on a large diverse population is a statistical guess.
Thank you to all who want the vaccine now. You are the test subjects who will confirm safety and effectiveness for those of us who choose to wait.

I was wondering when anyone would think to mention the 1918 flu epidemic. Also called the Spanish Flu. Yes it started in Spain but it came from American GI's that had been inoculated before going oversees to fight a war. At the time medicine was still in it's infancy and combining all the possibilities together of what the soldiers "might get", they invented the "shot" to cure all. In their hurry to give these soldiers their shots they rushed everything and the soldiers became the "rats/mice". They were given their "shots" before being transported on large crowded ships to Spain, where they were housed in crowded barracks and the Spanish flu spread and mutated. You won't find a lot of that in your history books...you have to research cause and effect. True, very true that we have Czars, in place to control us. I can't believe more people are afraid of the vaccine than the virus. I don't think either is a tremendous reason to lose sleep but there are occasions where a new flu causes a real pandemic - see 1918. Maybe that was a world conspiracy man-made virus too! Anyway when you get a flu shot - its broken up protein pieces from a virus - it cannot cause the flu like Checkit insists. THere are rare occasions where a vaccine causes problems and even deaths but this would have been picked up in trials. There are other rare occasions where a new virus reaks havok on otherwise healthy young adults. Pick your tonic but at this point neither choice is poison.

As a vaccine-injured person, I can say from experience that vaccines are not the harmless substances we are led to believe they are. Vaccines can cause tremendous damage and this from vaccines that are not rushed through safety testing. I, too, think it is barbaric that babies are being used as Guinea Pigs for this shot. Medical health professionals have to believe in vaccines and cannot allow themselves to believe they could be hurting people. 3. The last swine flu vaccine killed and paralyzed dozens of people. A report leaked for governments to watch out for this to happen again (Guillian Barre syndrom). Do you want to be paralyzed?
4. Its experimental and the vaccine makers have been granted blanket immunity for any adverse reactions. See above.
5. Vaccines are routinely contaminated with mycoplasma and cancer causing viruses. Think SV40 contaminated polio vaccine.
6. The same people pushing mass vaccination fund depopulation programs through the UN. Extending peoples lives and eliminating people are mutually exlusive.

Kyle...I personally know about 7 people who currently have, or have had, swine flu in the past month. None of these people are anywhere close to dying. Granted they don't feel well for a few days, but they are on Facebook doing status updates...just waiting 'till they can return to work and school. Not nearly the horrible, scary scenario played out on the news. As many have said, unless you are immuno-supressed, you are likely in much more danger by taking a barely tested vaccine containing heavy metals and other toxins.

Taking an "inactivated" virus approach...my foot. Why are they called "live-virus" vaccines then? Shedding of the virus occurs in the stool, etc. Claiming these are "dead" viruses is just lying, plain and simple. NO for me, NO for my children....and it's NOT because I'm a fearful crazy person. While I have purchased shares in several companies that do or will manufacture H1N1 vaccine, I will not take the vaccine. The stock price increases have been excellent. First, H1N1 seems to be very clearly race related. Certain races (Hispanics) are impacted greatly by swine flu while others are not. I have not seen any evidence that my demographic group has any problems. Second, people with certain pre-existing medical conditions also seem to have negative outcomes. I do not have any of those pre-existing medical conditions. Third, in the UK the Swine flu shot has links to a killer nerve disease and concerns that the shots caused over 25 deaths.
I would NOT let Obama-care shoot me up with anything, I already had enough. I don't even have a tattoo, what makes them think that I would hand over my veins to them. Would not be surprised if the "shot" is forced upon us.

Children under 6 months of age are not able to take any flu vaccine. You owe it to your babies and patients (if you work with young children) to take the H1N1 shot as they are at the greatest risk of death. Also, pregnant women are at a very increased risk of death from the H1N1 disease - they should be the first in line!

As a registered nurse, I will definitely get the shot, though several of my coworkers have said they will not. We already had several swine flu cases in my hospital and have a severe shortage of respirator masks. Also, swine flu patients are not being properly identified and isolated because there are only so many negative air pressure rooms.
I feel that if you are a health care worker, you have an obligation to the public to get vaccinated to prevent spreading it to your patients as well as stay on your feet in a crisis situation where we may need every available nurse to combat the surge in patients.
And one final thought. I saw a patient in 24 hours go from walking around their room with seemingly mild flu symptoms progress to complete respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation. If the swine flu spreads like they say it will, there will only be so many ventilators to go around. I don't want to potentially put myself or family members in a situation where they may need a ventilator and one is not available, or need antivirals but there are none to be had.
For me the risk is great enough that I feel getting vaccinated is necessary since I will be around the swine flu regularly, but for the general public, it is less clear.

I will not take this vaccine or give it to my children. I never get the flu vaccines and this one is scary since it is being pushed through so quickly. I think this is just a way for the pharmaceutical companies to make money.

As a doctor, I will definitely get the vaccine. While the H1N1 is not as virulent as the regular flu, the regular flu still kills 30,000 people per year in the US and has the effect of taking people out of work.
There are certain populations who are recommended to get the regular flu vaccine (http://www.cdc.gov/flu/protect/keyfacts.htm), and those populations should certainly get this vaccine.

I am so glad to see people questioning the vaccine instead of blindly trusting in it. Rather than getting injected with this chemical cocktail, just getting some sun and increasing your Vitamin D can decrease your chances of being seriously affected by the swine flu.
I am weighing this. My physician said that the H1N1 itself is not the real worry, it's the potential realted to the bird flu. The Swine flu is easily spread but not very fatal, as many have written here. The Bird Flu, is the opposite, not easily spread but extremely fatal. The fear is that the two will somehow mutate (not sure of actual term) and we get the worst of both, an easily spread, very dangerous virus. If swine flu is contained now, it greatly reduces that chance.
Listen, when making a vaccine they will use the"inactivate" approach. Using this strategy, viruses are completely inactivated (or killed) with a chemical. By killing the virus, it cannot possibly reproduce itself or cause disease. The inactivated polio, hepatitis A, INFLUENZA, and rabies vaccines are made this way. Because the virus is still "seen" by the body, cells of the immune system that protect against disease are generated.
The strength of this approach is that the vaccine cannot possibly cause even a mild form of the disease that it prevents and can be given to people with weakened immune systems. The limitation of this approach is that several doses must be given to achieve immunity.
I will NOT be taking this vaccine. When your own doctors say absolutely not, that's a sign... I'm pregnant and would NEVER risk my babies life for a vaccine that has harmful ingredients and is not tested long term.... No thanks! I'll stay at home if I have to!

Your ignorance is terrifying. All flu vaccines (including H1N1) use a killed virus which may induce mild symptoms, but will not lead to active infections. Get yourselves educated and stop the fear mongering over vaccinations.

I will not be taking the vaccine. I don't do the flu shot & some others. My children get some of the basic vaccines. When my daughter was younger & had horrible asthma & had kidney problems, she got the shot, but it's not needed now. No way.
Most vaccines are entirely unnecessary and this one is dangerous. H1N1 has proved to be no more dangerous than the regular flu (which kills 25,000 per year) and a percentage of people who have taken the vaccine HAVE DIED due to reactions.

I absolutely agree with JM. I too, am a health care worker and I nor any member of my family will be getting the vaccine. I haven't spoken to a Dr or nurse yet that is willing to get it. That should speak volumes!
The last time they rushed a vaccine for the flu more people died from the vaccine than died from the flu and they recalled the vaccine. I'm not going to eat out because there are too many restaurant workers who don't wash their hands. If it gets really bad I will wear a mask to shop for groceries. I already have Tamiflu ready if needed. If I had children I would not send them to school because it's not worth the risk.
In my life I've only had a bad reaction to one vaccine. The Swine Flu shot that President Gerald Ford ordered all military to take in 1977. I thought I was going to die. Many young and old did. I was 23 years old. I'm not taking any injections related to swine flu or any other flu.

I don't believe 5 week trials on only healthy people is enough to determine it's safe. There is no way I would take the vaccine. Neither will my children. I had read an article that says what they use in the vaccine is in the same vaccine that was given to the soldiers of the first Gulf War. Look what it did to them. I am a health care worker and former FDA official. I will not take the vaccine, nor recommend it to anyone who is healthy. If you are unhealthy or immuno-compromised then taking the vaccine is worth the risk.
The adverse effects of the H1N1 pandemic in the US have been exaggerated. All seasonal viruses kill people unhealthy people. The H1N1 virus is not much different. The biggest difference is that it affects young people.
Furthermore, the vaccine has been rushed through the approval process. Safety and effectiveness data is based on a limited number of people. Its affects on a large diverse population is a statistical guess.
