It's about time that something came here that puts pressure on the current food stores, to provide quality products. Finding fresh produce here is a challenge, at best. I look forward to the Martins opening, and I don't care how crowded it is, I will be doing my grocery shopping there. I'm tired of the current "superstore's" lack of service quality. It seems they only make improvements when suddenly a new kid is on the block, and they face losing customers. Something as small as dividers at the registers would be an improvement there, but they don't care to provide them. The one in Fredericksburg is like shopping at a luxury store, compared to the one in Culpeper. I have NEVER seen a store so poorly run, and will be so glad to have a MUCH better option. Even if the prices are higher at Martin's, I'll pay it for better service.
I too, have many complaints about the food stores in Culpeper. I am with AFMom. I stopped in the new Martins last evening. I have one word to say "BRAVO." My immediate thought was, 'finally a real food store; clean, great selection, and good prices.'
Love Martin's but Aldi's is still awesome for stocking up the pantry. Martin's produce and meats will be in my fridge now. Much better than other stores. I like the butcher being available to cut meats the way I want. At least for now the butcher has better hours at Martin's than the other stores. The butchers at the other stores are always closed when I get there.
