What do you think of the name David Cook and the Anthemic? (Poll Closed)

Friggin' DC haters!

Ok, this poll is just rigged. Those DC haters are just going to put no. What the hell? There are probably more DC haters than lovers that go on this site. Holy fuckin crap.

I LOVE David Cook but DON'T like the name. So I voted NO. Not everyone is enthralled with everything David comes up with.

I love the name . It is exactly a name that David would use. Unique, fun and a little complicated just like David Cook.

I am a huge David & Band fan but I don't like the name at all.

I like David quite a bit, but the name makes me think of my health insurance company, or maladies that the insurance company may need to help me pay for. Ugh. I think he should go back to the drawing board on this one. He's a smart guy; I'm sure he and his bandmates could come up with a better name than this.

AN-THE-MIC..hmmm. Well, nothing sounds better than when David AN(d) THE MIC come together!

To all the haters.....IT'S HIS BAND AND HE CAN NAME IT ANYTHING HE WANTS.

Well, we DO know this wasn't his/their first choice -- that LOTs of good names didn't work out for one reason or another. I think it does represent a general style/aura. At some point, we won't be able to imagine them with another name. Chances are, not everyone will be happy with it. I like it whenever there is a move that de-emphasizes David and gives cred to the talented people who work with him.

Saw David and his stellar band for the first time a few nites ago, in Sacramento at the CA State Fair; they were amazing..

However, despite loving him and his music A LOT, I too voted NO/EWWW. in this poll, which does NOT make me a "hater" - far from it!

Calling people who don't like this band name "haters" is truly immature and is unfortunately a manifestation of the gross narrow-mindedness that so many fans bring to conversations like this...

It's just that for me, this word "Anthemic" feels weirdly similar to words like "anemic", "anorexic", etc.

I think David is particularly enchanting b/c of his intelligence and "word nerd"iness!

I'm glad he's not doing something which only uses a version of his name (like Daughtry, for ex.), cause it's great that he's acknowledging the band members partnership with him in this endeavor of music-making..

Just wish they had found something which, imho, would be more 'attractive' and compelling - which "the Anthemic" is not - just sayin'...

"Anthemic" is unique, wholesome and clever. Its definition fits David Cook.

At least, "Anthemic" is better than other band names (i.e. Twisted Sisters, F**cking Tweetums, Bigfoot, Bigc**k, "Satan's whatever", whatever, whatever).

I'm huge David Cook fan and I think the band is awesome! But I voted no on the name Anthemic because as one poster already noted, it immediately made me think of the word anemic. I will love David and his band no matter what name they come up with, just thought Anthemic was so-so.

Okay...I am an absolute die-hard DC fan but I did vote no on this. There's just something about the name...I dont know. I suppose it's obsolete to vote so early because you have to give something like this substantial time to grow on you. But...It's not won over for me quite yet. But then again...I didn't quite like "Light On" when I first heard it either. So in most cases, I don't think that it's the "haters" that are voting no. I think it's the opinion of the fans. And, obviously the name is just a name. It won't change the fact that DC and the rest of the crew RAWK out :) xoxox
