Will you tune in to a fourth season of Torchwood?

    @Me

We expected some good writing, you know plot that makes sense, character development, etc.

People had to die in order to achieve what, exactly? Let's be honest and admit that they got rid of Ianto 'cause he was stealing Gwen's spotlight! Plus they had to get rid of Ianto (and his relationship with Jack ) so that they could sell the show to some mainstream US network.

The show has lost a great character with Ianto while annoying Gwen + husband + baby + new house with white fences + bank account + minor character who is her friend + her main spotlight in the show is still pushed down the viewers' throat.

And Jack happily shagging around while waiting for REALZ LUV with Gwen after killing both Ianto and his own granchild makes everything even more pointless than it already was.

I will miss Ianto, but i WILL watch it...

Ianto died get over it... What did you expect? The whole team to end up skipping together in a field laughing? People had to die.

I chose "NOT WITHOUT IANTO". Mainly in fear of Gwen being in the new season. Ianto was a quiet character with such depth of emotion and commitment to the team, Jack and Torchwood Institute that he leveled off Gwen's very ire provoking selfishness. But in him Jack found a strength and humanity that had him declining going off into the stars with the Doctor. Now there isn't much for him left on Earth to make it a home for him. & that's one of the worst tragedies in this verse. But all hope for nanogens. #9 said they could bring back the dead.

And it's been nearly a year now and I still cry over the senseless-ness of it. I do hope to see GD-L in a project soon here in the USofA. Hopefully somethhing we can here his gorgeous singing voice in.

I voted for 'i'll consider tuning in if they add whoever', but as much as I would LOVE Captain John to be a part of the team [and that is a lot], you can't have Torchwood without Ianto.

Or the Hub. Or the SUV or Janet or Myfanwy or anything that is now gone. Torchwood without Tosh and Owen was heartbreaking enough, but now there's nothing left. Apart from Gwen. And I have NEVER liked her.

The T in RTD should really stand for 'Torchwood ruiner'. Grr.

My friend only recently got me obsessed with Torchwood through watching a season one marathon. I was immediately drawn into the Janto relationship, not because I'm a fangirl who loves seeing two guys get it one (I mean I am but this was not the reason for my Janto love), I fell in love with their relationship because the emotional relationship that was slowly developing was so beautiful it makes my chest physically ache.

To then find out that the writers killed dear Ianto was heartbreaking. And without hearing Jack utter 'I love you' back as well.

It saddens me to know that a show I only just fell in love with has managed to alienate me after only 3 seasons.

I chose the "I might watch Torchwood if these characters come back" option. Although she provokes very strong reactions, both negative and positive, from the DW and TW fandoms, I would like to see Martha back, mostly because I think she "gets" Jack, as much as anyone can, or at least accepts him as he is, and he has a great deal of respect for her. Sadly, I know that won't happen because the actress is committed elsewhere, so I guess then, my answer is "I shall wait and see, perhaps watch the 1st episode, before I really make up my mind". Since it doesn't seem like we'll be getting Ianto Jones back on Torchwood, here's to hoping that GDL has landed something in the US, so we can see his lovely face, and subtle acting, on our screens again!

Poor Ianto, he died in the arms of his lover and now Torchwood is no more.

Ianto's death was a heartbreaking news. Our beloved Tea-Boy.... I'm going to watch the first episode of the fourth season before i decide wether or not i'm going to watch the whole season.. i mean i am a fan of Jack but it's just not the same without Ianto... and i really hope they have Gareth guest star in the fourth season, with maybe an episode where jack thinks back to their time together. and an episode where Jack visits Ianto's grave.... so we can get some more feelings from Jack, and maybe finally get him to say I Love You... even if it is only to a grave, it still has meaning for the fans...

Seeing as it's probably not going to happen that jack or the doc finds a way to bring Ianto back, i'll always think of Ianto when i watch torchwood. But i'll miss him and his coffee (Which i hear is really good! LOL)

PLEASE BRING IANTO BACK, AND MAKE JACK SAY I LOVE YOU!!!!

I was devastated when ianto died. I am american who has always watched BBC since it was available over here in america and now I so disappointed I can't even watch any of the other shows that I like such as Primeval. Please BBC bring back MY IANTO for what is Jack without Ianto he is nothing.

I am new to Torchwood. I was seeing these commmercials that intrigued me. "Children of Eath" ooked like a great mini series. I decided to watch the season 2 ender with James Marsters(whom as Spike was very yummy). I was blown away by the whole story line and impressed by the use of a gay hero. I then decided I was definiatly going to watch the third season. I sat on the edge of my seat throughout. and them Ianto died....I felt the wind knocked out of me... I sat in dissbelief... I cried and felt the loss... them I stopped to realize how great this show was to provoke such a strong responce in me. I am a sci-fi/ Horror loving hardened American and I cried when Ianto died.. WOW what a great show... I can only hope to see more of Captain Jack in the new season.. I want to see the effect his decisions have on him and hope with some new characters we will see a season five...I wanted to note this to all those who are not going to watch the fourth season because Ianto is gone.....Most of the time in death their is no reason..there is no waiting till a forming love has faded...sometimes death just happens...but because it is what it is...you must live everyday filled with things that are good and right...and let those things that are bad and hurtful go...

I was absolutely gutted at Ianto's death, as many fans were and despite insisting by the writers that it was necessary, I do not feel it was. I might be tuning into a series 4 if it has all new characters; it would be a new show with the same Rift to fight. That's just because of my love of british scifi though. But if they brought back Jack I would be too heartbroken to watch, and I feel that Gwen has run her course as a member of the Torchwood organization. So I voted the *not without Ianto* option because I'd only watch series 4 of Torchwood if it was an entirely new cast/set/everything.

I don't suppose it would/could be possible for Jack to return w/Ianto on/in his arms...? that certainly would be within the realm of the fantasy of this show. (And something to dream about....) VBG
The throngs of idiots like myself were finding the romance growing between Jack and Ianto as something to look forward to from week to week. And then to have the rug pulled out from us; a gay partnership begining to unfurl, smashed abrubtly as if throwing a vase to a stone floor! Frankly, really pissed. yep.

Perhaps the powers that be within the Torchwood writers/producers/etc., are just dishing out these story curves to irritate their viewers--they certainly are doing a great job at that

Yes, characters come and go within a storyline, however, does one eliminate a storyline, and or character development that is grabbing (or has the potential to grab) the public as this saga has? If a character or storyline has run it's course--then, perhaps it's time to fade them away....but...Ianto and Jack's romance....??

enough ranting. and not that it mean didly squat.
