Due to budget concerns, the South Street fire station is to be closed for two months this year. What do you think?

I'm told that the So St firemen are doing their regular shift from Center Firehouse, so the town is saving .... the cost of the lights at South Street Station ? I don't get it. By the time they arrive from Center Fire House to South Tewksbury, locate the hydrant, run hoses ( over neighbors stockade fences in my case) they'll be nothing left to extinguish - just smoldering ashes. I wasn't around when this went into effect and noticed it only when I drove by South St Firehouse and saw the sawhorses with a message to dial 911. That's real nice. No fire protection, poor snow plowing, trash pickup now cut back, water quality issues, traffic is awful at rush hour ( and weekends if near Livingston ST), taxes keep going up and up and up ... As someone who never had kids, we get absolutely NOTHING from this town, so now looking elsewhere to live. Keep it up and you'll have the town full of only "those that use resources" rather than those that contribute ... or maybe it's there already.
