If Lamar Odom and the Lakers don't reach terms, which Lakers' contract will you blame?
Kobe Bryant: He earns every penny of salary, but it nonetheless eats up the majority of the Lakers' cap space.
Pau Gasol: One hell of a "second option," but is 17 mil (for now) a lot for those services?
Andrew Bynum: Getting paid a lot starting next season, largely on potential.
Sasha Vujacic: Big-time letdown after one good season, very difficult to move without taking on another bad contract.
Ron Artest: The Lakers just committed long term to one dude about to hit the big 3-0. Two is tough.
Luke Walton: The yearly money isn't bad, but the yearly years add up.
DJ Mbenga/Josh Powell: Hey, a mil here or there adds up, right?
Lamar Odom: As in, "his asking price/contract length is too much, regardless of the Lakers' cap situation, and he didn't call back Dr. B."
It ain't about the contracts. It's about Dr. Buss' unwillingness to pony up for greatness.
