Should Stop Signs Be Removed?

Signs remove the need for human decency and respect amongst people. The less signage the better. Drivers should learn to look out for cyclists. A cyclist 'running' a stop sign is unlikely to kill or even harm anyone, except maybe himself, but a car doing the same could easily kill anyone/thing in its way. For this reason, all signage should encourage cycling, for it is infinitely less dangerous to the public, emits nothing, makes no noise, encourages public health, creates a more hospitable environment, etc, etc. I used to drive, but how can you drive when you can cycle?! If only our public thought a bit more (and our politicians too), like they do in Denmark!

I actually like stop signs, because they give me a chance to stop and take a breather, to calm do and be less tense. I hate driving, and the stop signs help me. I have not experienced roundabouts, so I have no idea how they would work. Please always drive safely, whether or not there are stop signs!

Removing four-way stop signs changes nothing in terms of traffic safety regulations. A four-way intersection without stop signs should be treated the same way as a four-way intersection with four stop signs, that is: stop, then proceed when it's your turn.

Since most people can't drive, or are too busy talking on their cell phone or otherwise distracted, the rest of us have to drive more defensively...so with that in mind, 4 way stops should remain. Not only that, but as a cyclist, you should be thankful for all the stops...because most drivers will not see you or give you any right of way.

Yes roundabouts would save me so much time, but drivers already have a hard time with simple stop signs and lights and staying in lanes.

Take a look at europe, roundabouts are an effective way to control speeds while moving traffic. The stop signs and stop lights that are strewn accross north america have taken the responsibility out of the driver.
